Beginner questions ...

Hi,

I have an old version of TOAW and I'm thinking about getting version III. I always has trouble getting into the game system and my question is, if TOAW III would make this easier by having a tutorial, or better documentation (manual), or other difference from the original releases? Is the manual different from the old versions?

Thanks a lot!

Chuck

The manual's based on the original but has been gone over with a fine-tooth comb. There are a number of tutorial scenarios.

Things should be better than previous versions- but getting into TOAW will still be a challenge. It's just that sort of game. Worth it, though.

Hi!

Actually, this game begs for an interactive tutorial scenario for new folks.

I was about 70% finished doing a basic interactive tutorial scenario, but nobody seems very interested in it so it got put on the back burner.

Where were you about three weeks ago? I had to get by butt whipped by the UN in Korea, the Russians at Tannenberg and US at Kasserine before I figured out the basics.

Something along those lines would still be useful however, especially to those seeking to avoid the frustration I felt. Contrary to some, I believe anything that makes the game more accessible will also make it more popular.

See, Lava?

Yet another case of 'build it, and they will come', [:D] Sounds like time to post it all, big guy!
