Anybody want to build/buy a Nieuport 24?

Well, my family crisis is over, my grandfather passed away peacefully last Sunday (the 9th). It didn't hit me quite as hard as I figured, I guess because there at the end he truly wanted to go to God. I guess I'm taking comfort in that, and that he isn't suffering anymore. Not to say it doesn't hurt, but that is life. Still next to my monitor and books are 2 spent .30-06 blanks from his funeral. Sad to see another WWII vet go, but at least he is at peace.

So, I'm now back to work. The 1.205 patch should be out soon (hopefully this week). I'm back to working on 1.3, which is coming along slowly again, but still fairly nicely. After that, I'm thinking about broaching the idea of doing a 1930's expansion to WPO (a pay expansion, not another 40 bucks or anything that expensive. I'm thinking 15-20 max) using WPO's hypothetical ships combined with 1930s planes, carriers, ships, and a boatload of new scenarios. Still that's all in the TBD stage (though doing the new stuff and scenarios for 1.3 is setting up that possibility very well). If it gets greenlighted, it would be 1931-1940, offering with WitP a full range of Pacific warfare from 1922-1946. However, that is all way in the future. I am doing some light work on it, but right now my main emphasis is to finish the Japanese a/c specs, do the art, and build the 7 or 10 scenarios for 1.3.

Anywhoo, I was trying to find the climb rate for the Nakajima Ko 3, the Japanese liscense build of the Nieuport 24C-1. Accidentally came across this site: http://www.airdromeaeroplanes.com/Default.asp?page=65 From there, you can buy a full scale kit to build a Nieuport 16, 17, 24, 24bis, 25, or 27, and Fokker D.VI, D.VIII, Dr 1, and E.IIIs in 3/4 scale, and a Dr 1 in Full scale, and a Dr. VII in 80% scale. As to the non full scale kits, remember the planes in the Blue Max were only 3/4 scale. The full kits cost $10,000, the 3/4 kits $8,000. They also sell engines from 78 to 102HP from $2,242 to $3,242.

It's all built it yourself, but supposedly it all conforms to FAA regulations, can be built with standard garage tools, and takes ~400 man hours to build.

I knew somebody made them, but I didn't know who until now [:D] Too expensive for my blood, but you gotta admit it would be cool.

Very cool indeed, especially kits with the guns http://www.airdromeaeroplanes.com/Default.asp?page=90

A mid 30s game. Even a shorter campaign would be a lot of fun. Sort of a mix of the old and new with some pretty neat aircraft. Hope it works out.

By the way, I am really enjoying my current campaign game. WPO is a fine game. Thanks for your efforts.
