Retreating into super rivers

I just had an example in a game where non-ferry capable infantry units retreated into an empty super river hex.
Presumably this is a known bug?

Can you attach a save file, screenshot, or a more complete description? There are several reasons that this should happen, but I don't know whether your situation is one of them.

Here is the save file. It's a SAL of a PBEM, so you won't be able to see the German side I guess.

The German units now in 64,18 retreated from 65,18, to be replaced by US unit 3rd Arm D, 3/CCB which advanced after combat.
The attack was from all units in 65,17 with Limit Losses and no explicit support.

Oops. I just noticed something.
There is an "improved road" in the retreat hex but it doesn't show on the visual map. So I suppose that explains it but is in itself a different type of bug. In fact the hex as having both "improved road" and "bridge destroyed" attributes. Strange ...

Units with just a little engineering capability can enter a destroyed bridge hex. I'm guessing those regiments and battalions have a handful of engineering squads.

Chuck explained it. No bug here. Working as designed.

OK that's fine. How about the hex that is both "improved road" and "bridge destroyed" simultaneously?

That is a road hex, that had its bridge blown. When you repair it, the "bridge destroyed" text goes away.

Now I am feeling stoopid. I was labouring under the delusion that when you had "bridge destroyed" the "improved road" or whatever attribute was not shown anymore. Oops.
Thanks for the help.
