Questions before purchase

Hi all,
I own the orignial TOAW and TOAW II plus an expansion pack.
I never go around to buying TOAW WOFC (Wargame of the Century) or whatever the final compilation was.
I tired to pick one up on eBay a number of times, but the sellers never came through.
Anyway,
I saw that TOAWIII is out. Before I shell out for it (pun intended) I would like a synopsis of what have been changed over the versions that I own.
The price tag is high enough that I am not keen on paying it unless there is significant change of play for the TOAW II engine.
THanks,

Major Snafu:
Buy it.
130 scenarios (plus the 70 originals)
Improved AI
Runs flawlessly on XP
I owned two previous versions and don't regret purchasing this one at all.

I own, TOAW 1, 2, ACOW,and have no regrets having purchased TOAW 3. The improvements in turn calculations, alt & scenario specific graphics etc and the fact that Matrix plans pretty well weekly patches/upgrades till the end of the year make it a great game overall.

I don't feel that the relatively minor changes to the game warrant the steep price tag - to me, it feels like a patch rather than a full, new game. I would say that 98% of the scenarios that were included could be found for the ACOW version of the game.
The updates were nice, but minor. I would only recommend this to someone who still plays ACOW and fully enjoys it - if there's something significant that bothered you in ACOW in terms of gameplay and mechanics, don't expect it to be changed in "TAOW III." Just my 2 cents.

For me it was money very well spent. I had stopped playing for about a year and picked III up as soon as it came out. I've always enjoyed the monster scenarios and with the last patch you can actually sit down and play them for more than one turn at a time. The speed of the supply/reinforcements compilation is much better now and the AI. Wow. I have to give it to the design team, they really got it much better. Busting encirclements, cutting supply lines, defending with some depth.....maybe I'm wrong, but it appears to me to be a much better game now.

Take care not to confuse TOAD Tuesdays, with every Tuesday, like the reveiwer at The Wargamer did. We have not promised weekly patches, only that the patches will be released on *a* TOAD Tuesday.

..just buy it for Elmer alone, then you can enjoy the experience of being beaten by the AI too...
