Corrupted saves

Well, I know it is mainly my own fault, but it would be nice if prior saving the file COTA would check for available disk space or check save file integrity after the save. Otherwise I got my save corrupted, as I found because there was no space left on the disk.
This is not unique to COTA - got the same kind of corruption on WITP save, which is much worse.. [:(]

Yeah, for some strange reason devs of various games, even major companies, tend to "forget" to include such a check, or they think it's not necessary to include 'em anymore, since the usual HDs easily exceed 160 GB these days. Thoughts about ppl creating several partitions (i.e. with a relatively small game or system partition) won't even come up, often!
The most recent patch wizards from EA would be a good example here, the patch routines (for Battlefield 2) insist on having up to 1.7 GB free diskspace on the system partition with some additional 1+ GB on the game partition. Ridiculous!
Someone with a small system partition (but with plenty of space on all other drives) would not be able to install the patch. Not very smart.
