Hi all, Like the game alot. I am having a problem when I create a scenario trying to use tanks like the tiger II and panthers. It seems like the tanks with folders will work but the tanks without folders cause a ctd. Is there a way to add these tanks into a scenario?

Yes a bug, the game is trying to find Pz IIIJ assests in the media folder where none exist. This has something to do with the fact that the Pz IIIJ is the model for the generic vehicle.

You may find more gotchas as you design more scenarios.

If in doubt use my scenario editor and check the specs of the unit. It if shows as the deafult generic vehicle (you will know what it looks like) then don't use it until Koios fix the problem.

The free scenario editor tries to validate scenario designs as much as possible to limit the number of CTD you get. I will add the generic vehicle check test to the next version.

cheers

As a quick fix, you can also just copy the models information from a similar tank like the Tiger I into the panther and tiger II models areas (replacing their model info). Then the 'data' will be right for the Tiger II etc but it will display in game with the Tiger I mesh.

We included a lot of additional stats for vehicles that are not in the game. We felt this would help modders who wanted to actually add in new models and wouldn't have to wonder about stats. However, only the units that actually have models already included will work. You can find all of these in the Variety Skirmish scenario, which includes one of everything in the game, including units that don't show up in the campaign like the Tiger I.

There are a _lot_ of vehicles that we still need to do in order to cover all of WWII, each of these takes time and we will be added as we go through future expansions. We'll probably release a few free ones over time as well.

Laryngoscope, I'm not sure if there's something you can do with your editor to make sure only units with valid models are available, but adding a unit that's not actually in the game will cause a problem.
