Babylon 5 Mod problems

Hello all. Back from a short leave of absence.

I am having a CTD problem with the B5 mod. When I try to launch emines from a Narn vessel, the game crashes when the mines explode. Also, when I try to run any of the included missions involving the Shadows, I get a CTD right at mission start. I tried it out on my brother's computer and I get the same thing. I can't imagine anyone releasing a mod with such a defect, so I have to believe it's something I have done wrong. Anyone have any idea what I can do?

Oh, and I already looked at the forum for the B5 mod (nada). I have had this problem ever since I first installed the mod, but I had fun with the stock game so I never really looked into it. Now, I am watching the B5 series (finally picked up the DVDs) and I'd like to get the SS mod to work.

Hi, I have the same problem with the v4.5.0 Then I installed the previous version and it worked. The mod was made before v4.5.0, so maybe it is not quite compatible with the latest version. It just seems like it really gets the latest version on it's knees. I haven't tried all fiddling with the graphic settings yet, so you might try it. Best of luck to you ;-)

OK, well, does anyone know how I can get an earlier verson of SS?  I tried playing with some of the settings and such and can't find a remedy for the problem.

Unfortunatly, it looks to me like both the B5 mod as well as SS itself are dead projects (at least basically dead communities), so I don't expect it'll ever get fixed.

Just do a fresh install and patch it up to v4.03. It worked for me. You can have both versions just don't uninstall the version you have now and create shortcuts for both versions. All you have to do is to install in the different folder.

Problem there.  I just bought the game in June, and I don't think I ever patched it.  I think what I got is already updated to the latest.  My only option would be if I could somehow aquire an older copy, but I'm not sure if that's a legal option or not.

I think what I got is already updated to the latest.
There should be version number somewhere on main menu. 4.5.0 is latest.

Yeah, that's true. Even the first blank screen shows your version in the upper left corner. In the main menu you can see your version in the upper right under STARSHATTER. If your computer can't handle the mod with v4.03, then all I can recommend is upgrade.

I know 4.5.0 is the latest.  The problem is that is all I have.  When I bought the game, what I downloaded was already updated to 4.5.  I have little to no doubt that my system can handel the mod on 4.0.3, but is there any way I can get that version?  Is there any place that hosts out-dated versions of SS, or perhaps could someone give me an older copy that I can use with the mod?

What do I get?  The demo?  Seems strange, but then, IIRC, the only limit the demo had was lack of missions.

Thanks for the help BTW

Hello All

I'm new to these boards but I've been a fan of Starshatter for a while now.  I was wondering if the B-5 Mod is still available??  I've been trying to find it on the net for the last few days and all the links I could find are deadends.

Thanks
