Feedback and Bug Reports for v1.28

- Crashing bug seems to be fixed for me
- Love having the date on more screens
- Still LOVING the additions to the lineup card when playing games.
- Seeing the injury bug that others are seeing. Basically, a CPU player is said to be injured in the PbP (see below) but keeps on playing and doesn't seem to be injured.

Screenshot from later in the same game. Mr. Serious Thigh Injury smacked a double.

Using 1.28 here...noticed two items:
1) During free agency, a scrub pitcher liked my team so he said he'd take $41,500 for a 5-year contract. I selected that, but when he accepted it, it said "5 years at $50,500"...just as if he were getting a $50,000 contract. That is also what's on the player card now. So...is $50,000 the league minimum? If so, then it should be offered as an option to be selected for less than the $50,000. By the way...what is that "extra $500" for when a player signs for $50,000?
2) Frequently at the beginning of the season, pitchers will not show up on my "relief" list in the Major League roster even though they show as being on my Major League roster over to the left-hand side. I have to figure out which pitcher isn't showing up, demote the guy, and then call him back up. I haven't yet been able to figure out if it's completely random or if it's preceded by a particular action (signed in free agency or whatever). But it happens a lot.

1) Pretty sure what happened is his offer was below the league minimum. Scrubs want a long-term deal and lower their salaries dramatically to get it as the contract length increases. But it won't go below minimum, which is undoubtedly what happened.

Have never seen this before. The CPU is playing a completely exhausted player, and they don't seem to have a second catcher on their ML roster. I doubt this is new for v1.28, but wanted to point it out anyway.

Found another bug.
no outs, tie game, bottom of the ninth. CPU has the bases loaded so I pull the IF and OF in. There is a fly ball to right which should give us a play at the plate, but instead the runner seems to change his mind without the PbP saying so.... I ended up getting a pop out and a ground out to survive the threat so I'm not THAT bummed about the bug. [:)] Postscript: My 3B hit a grand slam in the tenth and we went on to win and extend our winning streak to 5 games!!

Understood Sittingduck...however, my point was that if this is true (league minimum salary), then it should not be given as an option during free agency (or regular season signings).

At times while playing the game (Windows ME) it sounds like machine gun fire.

With 1.28
Has anything changed with the xml? Leading HR hitter July 31 is 16! Also any kind of trading seems impossible.

If you are using the default xml file, the dif software says that the version with Patch 1.28 and Patch 1.26 are identical.

I thought Shaun mentioned that trading activity would be down on GM teams. However, I don't see anything in the XML file that has changed. So I think it is internal to the EXE file.
Confirmation from Shaun would be nice.

I've found trading to be nearly impossible since about 1.20, frankly.
I think the AI GMs are utterly unreasonable in what they ask for.
Am I the only one that's felt this way?

You pretty much can't trade aging position players, but if you have excess pitching you can pretty much get any hitter except for the elite superstars. The computer also won't trade pitching except for the most elite of players or other pitchers.

LOL. You don't get anything unless you can offer something, guys. The AI GMs are NOT suckers, and I think that's good. I've made some great trades with historical players, and I don't understand why you are complaining.
Can you give some specific examples?

Here's a classic real roster example -- I put up veteran pitcher Rip Sewell on the trading block, and the offers are amazing -- this guy is still a great performer, with Stuff and Control in the 90s, BUT, he's 39 years old and declining. I can get young 2B Red Schoendienst for this old guy. Will I make the trade? Hell, yes.
This is all related to knowing your players, and having a firm grasp on what you need.
To quote Sir Mick Jagger, " You can't always get what you want, but if you try sometimes, you get what you need".
Instant gratification isn't always possible, but with careful planning, one can trade off older guys for promising youngsters.

KG,
I'd continue to argue that the value of pitching is too high. If you turn around and try to trade Schoendienst (who you value) you won't get any pitcher close to the quality of Sewell.

Yeah, I see your point. In The FIRST season of a league, the AI trade model looks at potential ( I think) over and above anything else. As I said, ole Rip is a hot prospect (Stuff and Control still in the 90s) , but he's on his way down. The AI doesn't recognize that he's gonna lose it soon, and may overvalue him. Good point.

I have an error when using the Add-ins feature. After I generate a report, click on a player to see his card, then close it, the card pops up again. It happens with all of the Add-in tools. Anyone have this happen?
