Loki you should no doubt of skill of chairman.
To capture Odessa in Turn 2 you must create a panzer corps in the south(exactly 5 hexes from the city) in the first turn and moving directly to the city.
Btw, did You never inflict 14k soviet losses against a human? I usually inflict 1oK in the first turn...

Ah!! This is not a standard scenerio. You CREATED a Pz Corps in the south with EDIT scenerio. That is a whole new ball game. Yes i could cause 14K losses to the soviets in that case but did'nt the soviets get to modify their set-up? If they did and still lost Odessa and 14K of troops then they are still a 4 year old or the computer. If i was the soviets and we modified the scenerio then you would not have odessa and you would have caused about 1000 squad losses(if not less. Border guards and all that). In the only MODIFIED '41 game i played as soviets i lost just under 1500 squads as the soviets in the first 2 weeks.
Nick
PS. Do i doubt your skill? No, but then i would say that to anyone i have not played.

No the panzer corps were from Germany, the 40:th under OKH, reinforced with modern tanks and some more to give it abit more in staying power.
I railed it down to Constansa on turn 1 and attacked on next round that broke thruu the screening force in front of Odessa and kicked out that force in there.
I have to say that I were lucky around Tarnopol sins both those Tank armies shatterd under the weight of 2 or 3 Panzer korps attacking.
I tried to engage as many tank armies as possible on the first turn and managed to kill some 4100 first week.

Chairman explains well the trick. I have never use the Edit
I only created the corps and reinforced with pz div by railtransfer. I maked that against Mist and he said "good trick" nothing about Edit.
Btw the 10k soviet initial losses are only in the fronts of AGN,AGC and AGS. In Bessarabia sector the losses come later <img src="biggrin.gif" border="0">

The war continous, Soviet losses are staggering but still there are forces to attack.
Soviet air force seems to pond new aircrafts out off the earth, this week we destroyed over 2000 of them many of several new fighter designes, Mig3:s, Lagg3:s and Yak1:s and still there were a few fighters/bombers/ in the land battles but most of these were shot down.
