AFV upgrade should cost rail points

It always disturbed me, when hundreds of tanks are just teleported from deep Russia to Berlin and back. Would it be possible to deduce a number of rail points proportional to the number of vehicles when an AFV upgrade is performed?

Since this was not forseen when the number of available rail points was determined, they might neeed to be slightly increased, though.

Special supply could also cost some rail points.

I agree, the cost should be the same as moving the replaced No of vehicles + the new vehicles as if they were an armored unit moving from replace hex X to Stavka or OKH. Not that much i know but how many little things can you let fall through the cracks in the system?
Special supply cost(in rail points) could be the amount of OP's lost to the HQ X distance between HQ and recieving unit. A big multiplier there but consistant with the amount of trucks and freight cars that would be used. As a frequent user of special supply i would gladly accept these restrictions.
Also when i move a HQ with 2000 planes attached(believe me i've done it often) they should not be ready for any action what so ever untill the next friendly turn. It would take AT LEAST a week to do such a thing.

No, moving aircraft to another position was not an action that lasted one week. The movement has its costs, because the Op-points of the HQ are reduced when moving.

On the issues list, but I'll bet this such a small issue it may never be done.

I don't like the fact that both sides are given identical rail points, that must be wrong too. The Soviets, at least initially, did not have the same rail capacity as Germany.

I do like the idea of using rail points for some things though, unfortunately I don't see this happening given how difficult it might be to implement.

I like these ideas too. Though, there are sooo many good items in the issues list waiting for their turn to be implemented. Ed it right.

I agree. Ideally, rail capacity would be something that could be built in factories and lost (through air attacks, for example). But I guess it won't happen... <img src="frown.gif" border="0">
