System Requirements?

Searched but cannot find any statement of what is required to run this game.
Can someone enlighten me? The main thing I want to know is "is it Windows-based?". If not, how hard is it to get it running?
Thanks,
Redleg

Well I am not sure what you mean but there is 2 versions of the game, 1 DOS and 1 Windows.

As far As I know matrix edition is dos based. If it wasn't there would not be requirement of conventional ram
My experience:
I recommend having 570-600 K of free "lower" or "conventional" ram, a vga card and 486/SX.
A mouse is also highly useful.

BTW runs quite well on recent 1000 Mhz machines as Athlons. OS supported are all DOS from 3.3 on and most Windows/X86 combinations I can imagine. Also runs fine under DR-Dos, PTS Dos and freedos. I recommend to use VMware if you get trouble under win2k

War in Russia is a DOS game. Matrix's Windows version merely has a Windows-based installer, whereas the DOS version is just a zip file. Once beyond the Windows installer, the game is identical to the DOS "version". David & company may add some other stuff, I haven't looked recently, but whatever added, WiR is a DOS game and always will be (no point in trying to make it a Windows game if GG is currently working on WIR3).
As for requirements, I think its just an EGA or better video card, and a PC with plenty of RAM free in DOS (or a DOS box under Windows). Try to get about 600k free in DOS, or a Window's DOS box.

Thanks, Guys. I shall try it. I just didn't want to get into a lot of configuration woes. Sounds good.
