Converting Scenarios from TAOW to TAOW III

I have a complex scenario that I developed in TAOW and requires Opart 300 to play. It takes forever to load the scenario into TAOW III, either for editing or playing. How can I improve loading speed? Is there a conversion utility from TAOW I to TAOW III?

aparently you have toconvert I to COW, then convert the COW file to III.  A friendly person off here did this for me for several scenarios as I don't have COW.

What version of TOAW did you use to design the scenario and did you update TOAW III with the latest patch (i.e. 3.0.0.17)? I have no difficulty opening and playing fairly large and complex scenarios on my rather modest laptop.
Is there a conversion utility from TAOW I to TAOW III?

More seriously no, there isn't such utility. You have indeed to first convert the TOAW I scenario (patched up to 1.07) into a CoW one (patched up to 1.04) before being able to convert it to TOAW III. If you lack either TOAW I or CoW, send the scenario my way and I'll convert it for you.

Question:  I understand opening and saving previous TOAW versions (I,II,WoTY, COW) in the ACOW editor (with updated patches) and then in TOAW III editor to finalize conversions.  But only ToAW III is on my current XP, can I grab my older TOAW(I-thru whatever) disks, install them and have the editor work properly on XP for all previous versions and patches (I- thru whatever)?  Not play them mind you, just get the editing going  to get them to III properly? 
 
I've just finished Summer re-reading of Harold Coyle's Sword Point and want to play Trey Marshall's 3WW Persian Gulf version from ACOW .....Will ACOW load on Xp to do the editing only?

ACOW will run fine on XP; previous TOAW incarnations however won't - unless you have an emulating tool like Virtual PC to emulate a Win98 system and install them on it. I use it to run TOAW I for converting older scenarios.

Converting Scenarios & Error Reports

Don’t know what happens when other people convert COW scenarios to TOAW III scenarios, but I always get error messages reports. A typical report is:

**Problem with Formation in event(150)
**Full Formation Name was : ++There may be corrupted events in this scenario : Operation Barbaro v01d
Elmer tried to fix them up
SET_FORMATION_ORDERS_EFFECT
Please open this scenario in the editor and check them.
**Problem with Formation in event(151)
**Full Formation Name was : ++There may be corrupted events in this scenario : Operation Barbaro v01d
Elmer tried to fix them up
SET_FORMATION_ORDERS_EFFECT
Please open this scenario in the editor and check them.
**Problem with Formation in event(152)
**Full Formation Name was : ++There may be corrupted events in this scenario : Operation Barbaro v01d

This report is from a rather simple scenario, which makes me wonder what happens when a really complex scenario is converted. The converted scenario seems to play correctly on my computer, but if I send it out to a friend will his Elmer know how to fix all of the errors? Ralph, help please.
