What happens during this winter period in 1942?

Is it much like 1941- or will losses be fewer?

Germany over-extends in the south and preads its forces too thin. They trap themselves by dividing up attacking forces into different directions. Failure to completely seize Wolgograd before the winter starts. House battle, Russians amass, Fiasco. Notrthern fronts: not so much action

In Wir terms the 1942 winter is more softly than 1941 for the germans. More turns of snow and no attrition in blizzard. In the games Ive played in fact the axis attacks the russians until blizzard arrives. There is no november counteroffensive for the russians they must wait the blizzard.

Maybe I should have explained myself better!

I know the story of the war.

But I need to know the story of the game. What effects will the winter of 42 have on the German troops, will it be as 41?

SO as the germans you can defend and counter attack and as the russians you have dont have the run of the battle field.

And losses are fewer during the blizzard period for the germans.

How long is the blizzard period and when does it start and finish?

Unlike 1941, there is no fairly specific period for blizzards in 1942/1943. It is random and can vary greatly. As Sole Survivor said, I think, there is no attritional losses. The Axis CV is modified in 1942 blizzards only by half or something, but there is no affect after 1942 (the year). Also readiness drops are not too bad, so blizzards are not a disaster in this winter. Airpower is weaker though, with the Soviets getting a small advantage in this case, and with other things it makes the blizzards a little tough, but nothing serious at all.

As Rick said the weather turns are random and can change in every game you play but always the blizzard(in my games ) began in the first turn of December. The end changed in all games.
