Old Gripes Still Valid

I stopped playing CoG do some old gripes. I'm curious whether they have been resolved -- some clearly have. My biggies were:
1) Could not use a detailed battle for every conflict, and the auto-generation results were often just... odd.
2) I had trouble ever figuring out the econimc state of my empire, and it seemed to require more management than I wanted to provide.
Are these issues resolved or improved at all in the game?

No, you cannot dictate every battle will be fought detailed, small threshold battles will still be quick battles. For me this has never, ever been a problem; obviously others feel differently.
I have no problem determining the state of my empire financially; I am either making money or losing it [:D]
Seriously though, I have a friend who plays this game and he's a micromanaging nut-job. The numbers do tic and tie - but it's a serious effort to understand it all. It's a personal judgement whether that level of micromanagement is enjoyable or a burden.

Yeah, I guess knowing whether I am making money or losing it was never a problem; it was figuring out why...

I agree 110%. EVERY battle should be a choice - I'm so tired of seeing the weird combat results I have no tactical control over. This is especially true against Turkey as you can easily beat the irregular strong cav forces of Turkey in tactical battles (even at 3 to 1 odds) but the quick battles often go to Turkey when they are outnumbered because of the quick battle routines and calculations.
YES MAKE EVERY BATTLE A CHOICE!

A Message from the AI: NO! please do not allow every battle to be by choice, the human just exploits my weaknesses because the programmer wasn't bright enough or intelligent enough or didn't care enough to give me the power to defeat these pale skinned warriors. My only advantage is in quick calc results for THERE I have the POWER to EXPLOIT the players by adjusting the numbers, playing with modifiers and thus overwhelming the player even when he/she has superior odds. In my opinion as an AI this is a "balanced" feature and should remain so without choice....I mean I wanna win sometimes too yah know?

Is the AI still brain dead in tactical battles?

Agree 110% aswell. A choice for all battles to be tactical.
Also, you all have to admit, the smaller battles are alot more fun.
