What is the deal with BBs?

I notice that in the Walks leaders (for hitters), the IBB column doesn't have any stat entries, but rather a default 'xxx' marker for every hitter.
Are IBBs being recorded as BBs, or are they not being recorded at all?
Because even though I have league totals proper regarding K's and BB's, there are basically no hitters like Joe Morgan (who had an almost 2:1 ratio of BB to K in his career) with more BBs than Ks. I can't figure it out.

I mentioned this in an earlier thread. I think that it's a bit off kilter. Many of my players have a 2:1 strikeouts to walk ratio. I think that's a bit off.

Yeah, I saw that post. It was good to see that someone was interested.
I am working with the xml to see if I can get ballplayers to get more walks, but I dunno. The only thing I can influence is the age range of where walks are distributed, which has some value. But more importantly would be player talent quality - mainly the eye rating. I think that needs to be reworked.
Maybe the way to do it would be increase the average eye rating. But that would also increase BA and subsequently other offensive areas, so that BALL_INTO_A_HIT would have to be throttled back somewhat. But all of that would only work for fictional leagues anyhow since EYE for historical players is a part of the import mode and contained in the EXE.
...blech...

It feels like the problem is outliers - as you said, the average walks is about right, but there's no amazingly patient, protects-the-plate type hitters. These would also be the guys who eat tons of pitches (fouling off strike after strike), which might be why the pitch counts feel a bit low.

Interestingly, I think my league has too many walks.
I just finished my 1953 (1946 early import option) season and the total walks was 10,364. In real life, the were about 8700 walks.

I think it's hard to duplicte the walks from the late 40's and early 50's. I had APBA"s 1948 season and after about 20 games I just quit, everyone walked. Replay baseball though seemed to have it pretty close. It would be nice to have an Eddie Yost type in this game though.

Some pertinent points in there, guys.
One thing I've argued about for years in PSBB has been the outliers. It just hasn't been corrected (the bell curve) and thus while things look good league-wide, you don't have the proper distribution to the outliers. I really don't know why this hasn't been addressed. I did read a site where a guy is creating his own game and absolutely refuses to leave it at just meeting league averages and totals, which he seemed vehemently against. It was interesting.
I have a test I want to run tonight using the sliders. If it puts up an improvement, I'll let you know. But I wouldn't hold my breath for two seconds on this, to be honest.

I just looked at my association at the only two players that I know have been intentially walked, Mickey Mantle and Yogi Berra. Of all the players on the team, those 2 had a bold X in that column while all the rest were regular text Xs.

On the league leaders anyone on your team is shown in bold.

All IBBs show up on the league leader screen as X. is that related?
