English Pilots, OOB

it took forever, but a number of my books on the English finally came in, and I must say, I am very disappointed

what I had hoped would be just a correction of a few and adding in some pilots has turned into a major nightmare, it seems that a lot of the English pilots in BTR are really from BoB time frame, and by BTR, they are either, overpromoted, out of work, retired, dead or over in the PTO, not counting going to training commands, taking over Airfields, or Wings, or of course, the ones who go to HQ, but decide to fly every once in a while, so still getting claims on there records, but belong to no unit

so, over all, the English, may be a major work in process for a bit

so please bear with me

(nothing that will slow down or delay the game, as it can be fixed/corrected as we go along, just may not be as good a group as the other Countries)

{Lol, the one I love, is the guy who last claim was made in June/July of 43 and then it is stated that no more claims were made by this pilot, well, does that mean he stopped flying ?, or, just didn't get into any action ???????}

British

I'm sure all the Scots, Welsh and Irish (not to mention all the CW pilots) who flew for the RAF would be rather averse to being referred to as English.

ahhh, well to be honest, since they do not have there own nation (with in the game) or there own Squadrons in the game

they are all English

any Aussies who flew with a English Squadron is English, any Pole or Frenchman, who flew with a English Squadron is English

(in fact, it even works the other way, any Englishman who flew with a French Squadron, is now French)

Funny, depending on the name you want to use, the Polish Flying Circus, or the Polish Fighting Team, is really a bunch of Englishmen flying in the Med, and of course, the Polish Flight in the 56th FG is really, nothing but a bunch of Yanks

sorry if I misstated what I was trying to state

The game labels the pilots as British not English, there is a distiction, that is the only point I was trying to make. I know there is legacy issue whereby pilots of whatever nationality get given the nationality of the Squadron.

English are British but all British aren't necessarily English.

in my game world they are

that is all I was trying to say

I got a pretty good handle on most of the other nations flying for the RAF with in there own Squadrons
but most of the RAF is screwed up big time

so maybe we should change the post or the intent to be seen as RAF instead of English or British

(but over all I think you are just playing with words, my background is also from that part of the world, and nobody from that side of the family, would ever claim to be English or British)
