20 people with one vehicle = assault value 311
10223 people with 114 guns, 4 vehicles = assault value 250

Is it something weird or I don't really understand the assault value rules...[&:]

hi it is minor bug i guess...

look at max assault and adjusted assault value (that's matter)--- both are zero and result is, of course 0-1.

I guess this is a para attack?

No, that is what bothers me... one day earlier there was something about 13000 of Japs there... and the next day 20.

I don't know the situation. Possibly a unit fragment that was left behind or a probing attack by para unit, or sub transported unit. Are you playing the AI?

Or a left behind unit just crossed a river (IIRC there is a river next to Tuguegerao) and auto shock attacked.

311 could be the assault value of Jap units that were already present, but did not take part in the attack.

Yes I'm playing the AI. And the next turn after the 20 troops Shock Attack, the 13000 Japs mentioned earlier, somehow are able to find themselves again in the base...

That can also be an option... but 20 troops big unit within some 12000 soldiers? Don't think so... and for a para attack it would be too small I think.

[:(]what bothers me is that according to history books the total number of troops during the WHOLE philippines campaign (dec-apr 42) were something like 40.000 (but overrated by the americans to 100.000) and that at the beginning phase maybe only 2000 to 4000 landed in the north at Aparri.
Where do these guys from WitP get the idea to throw in multiple times 15.000 troops per invasion hex ?? Within a day or two ??

The numbers show the total of units in the hex, the kamikaze squad must have been the only ones to attack.
