One question I never thought before - can pure artillery attacks (b plot) reduce entrenchment level of attacked force ?

IMHO it can not. Entrenchment level seems to be reduced only when combat odds are 3+. Artillery bombardment always has 0 odds <img src="frown.gif" border="0">
