Now that my changes were implemented to put AV on the combat report i'm ready to give this another try.

Well i send the singapore destroyers in to attack pescadores and i caught billy with his pants down. No torpedo hits scored but still a morale victory for the american's who don't have much to go on. They are all alone in this war and any good news is great news right now. Also i put mines at lingayan(sp) and i had the good fortune to hit 5 ships total including 1 destroyer.

The US navy is not mobilized out of Mare Island yet becuase dozens of destroyers are in dock with hull upgrades. It will be a long war and victory will come to the patient. In the meantime the US has signed secret support treaties with the british and french governments to use their ports as safe havens. Hopefully it won't bring Japan down on them.

Well the past few turns have been slow. My subs are taking a toll on him. He is not protecting his invasion convoys as he should. I've sunk 3 ships so far to 2 lost for me 1 PG & 1 sub on a direct hit from a depth charge. On PI i have everything at manilla just waiting for him to move in. I have 550 AP so he'll need at least 1500 AP plus some to fight through the city. I'm sneaking supply in from hong kong now as we speak.

Elsewhere i have the CommonWealth forces moving to Rabaul as a staging area to keep the japanese hemmed in there. Though i know full well the combat power japan has and its not enough to push that far into the south pacific. I have 3/4 of my battlefleet support (DD's) in port repairing so my BB's have not sortied yet.

Pretty boring so far we'll see what we do. I am thinking i might pull a general billy and move to retake the PI via a long route such as he did.

Message to Chinese/UK

Japanese Intellegence suggest that you have allowed US raiding taskforces to rearm and refuel at your Bases. You must stop this at once. I hope you take this matter with grave concern since our countries relations depend on it!

Response from China:
China will not allow itself to be bullied by anyone. Our chinese naval forces and army could quickly force the nation of Japan to its knees. We have been kind enough to stay out of this small fight. We have not allowed any US vessels to rearm in any ports under our control. We remind you that you now have 3 days to remove your forces from shanghai. If the deadline passes we will capture your forces for the duration of your conflict with the Americans. Do not push us and we shall not push you.

Response from UK:
Hong Kong remains a neutral port under control of the British Crown. We have no knowledge of rearming operations taking place. Any US vessels that put into port are purely non-combatents. We respectfully request that the japanese government resolve this dispute with as little bloodshed as possible.

Well its been a quiet few turns. I'm suspecting billy will move on Manilla soon. I'm sending a convoy of transports with 50K worth of supplies to reinforce manilla. I also am sending the 15th US infantry and a HQ to manilla via boat they were rushed down from Shanghai. Hopefully they make it in time to thwart his plans.

Well billy finally moved a crap load of folks into manilla today. Maybe I'll abandon my plan to reinforce manilla with the 15th. I have 30 AK's in manilla now offloading 50k supplies. Perhaps when the supplies are offloaded i'll just onload all the troops i can and get them out of harms way. What does everyone think? or should i put more meat into the grinder just to try to hold him off?

Well the siege is entering its second day of ground attacks and billys not fairing to well. I've also moved the reserve phillipines division from Davao to manilla and the 15th US and China Station are going to run the gauntlet. I slipped in almost 100k worth of supplies to manilla for the cost of 1 TK 1 AK & 2 PG. He's got his sub noose around me now but i'm going to put everything i can into manilla. HE still hasn't taken bataan yet so i wont have to cross the guns to get supplies in just yet.

Well i dropped in 4 more units and it was all a ploy. Billy came at me the next turn with 600k soldiers and the base was destroyed. It was a pretty horrible blow. I had ships enroute with more units that are not turning back towards Hong Kong. Billy is threatening Pearl now via IM. He also requested an end to hostilities.

I've got 12 BB's at Pearl. I have made 2 task forces of 14 INCH bb's they will be sortieing out to midway which i've built up with a sizeable fuel dump.
I don't really have a direction and i'm on the defensive.

Any ideas chaps??

i guess you can put a pile of subs at and around midway, wake, and marcus to harass/recon any ships that show up there. the midway fuel dump should help them stay on station longer w/o going to PH. and you can try patrolling some BB's between midway and wake just in case he comes for a visit to either one (if he's already taken wake he will have to keep it supplied!) there's no way he can take PH itself anymore (that was you who tried last year, right?) and if he wants to take another hawaiian island you can easily let it whither on the vine since it will be very costly to keep it in operation...

*nods* Yea i'm sending a few BB forces to bombard wake just to harass him. Maybe draw him out to play. Yea i know he can't take pearl. I'm Thinking of bypassing wake and going for Marcus Island which will give me an island furth up without too much resistance hopefully. I've got the 3rd Marine Division almost ready to free up to move. I'm taking my time i have time on my side and i will grow stronger while he's at his peak now. I just dont want to fuck it up too badly.

Pearl was a cluster fuck i'd love for him to go after pearl with all the new CD guns they put their. For me against the original patch it was horrid and i got slaughtered. I only got him to leave by bluffing him but i couldn't have taken it. But i was learning alot that game. I also know that anywhere i go i have to have a HQ prepped and working too if i want good success. I have rabual being fortified now. I even reinforced Hong Kong by depleting shanghai a bit. Hong Kong is practically defenseless at the start so i would rather have that port then Shanghai if i had to choose. If he comes into shanghai that will give me some breathing room. I have british ships on patrol in the waters of Hong Kong to keep him pushed off. So what do you think marcus a good idea? At least it will make him fight where i'm guessing he's weaker then Wake.

We have british citizens in many ports of call throughout china. If you are to commence hostilies aganist the chinese government please give us advance warning so precautions can be taken on behalf of our foriegn nationals.

in my game i figured i wouldn't worry about hong kong since the brits arn't at war yet so i reinforced shanghai and to good effect - he decided to go all out and take it and he is taking absolutly horrendus casualties! i'v been sending my PI sub force to patrol there and i'v torpedoed at least 1 transport and usually damaged another one every single turn for the last 30 days! fortunatly i'v kept an AS hanging around the PI to keep them reloaded since he's been slow to conquor it so i'l guess i'l be able to keep the slaughter going for a while yet!

Groovy maybe i'll move all those forces back to Shanghai. ALso a few chinest units came up for movement so i'm moving them to Shanghai that will put the AP at 1500 and the AP at hongkong is 1000 now. So hopefully we'll have a strong garrison in both places.

After an abscense i'm back. War was declared with russia. Japan came at me with 10,000 AV and took vladivostock in 3 turns. But i had reinforcements race down and got into the city next to vlad within a week. Now i have 1300 AV there vs his 10k but he is not prepped so he launched a massive attack and lost 13000 soldiers to my 1000. I've pulled all my engineering units to imam its a city in the mountains. It's about 8 hexes away i'm going to hold in this city as long as i can while defense are built up at imam. It's almost to level 4 forts now. When forts get high enough i'll do a fighting retreat and try to hold him there. I hope he keeps coming i can bleed him dry. He could just stay in vlad and garrison it and i wouldn't be able to get it back.

In other news, 2 infantry divisions and a tank brigade a combat engineer group and a group are about to land on marcus island. I landed a recon team at midway and he has 400 AV there along with some coastal guns. So i'll take marcus and then try to squeeze wake out with subs and bombard the base until they have no supply left and then i'll take the base. I want to hit him where he is weak.

He tries to take me again and suffers bad losses. It's just a matter of time until he pushes me back but i'll be able to have imam heavily fortified by that time.

We captured marcus with 1 infantry division 1 tank brigade 1 engineering unit and 1 headquarters. There was no opposition. I'll use this base to stage my further advances into japanese territory. I am going to now try to bypass wake and cut its supply off.
