Even though No Greater Glory is now an abandonware, I always thought it was one of the best civil war games out there if you are looking for comprehensive control over military, political, economic and diplomatic aspects of your country. I really hope that Forge of Freedom include economic and political systems of this game such as cabinet appointment, budget, issuing bonds, slavery policy, maintaining the support of congress and use of anti-subversive measures such as declaring martial law or suspending habeus corpus to maintain public order. However, if there was one thing I hated about that game, it was the combat system.

I still play it. But it was so hard to win. I hope that FoF will not be that hard

In "Forge of Freedom" we don't have all of those particular features (just some) in terms of politics and economics -- though these two spheres are most certainly essential to the game -- but I think that we more than make up for it with a superior combat system. My guess is that you will miss a few features that NGG had but FOF doesn't, but the overall package will not disappoint. (And yes, I'm biased...)

LOL...Well unfortunately a game can't be all inclusive, even the monster game War in The Pacific had to sacrfice a little to gain what it has. Still looks great..less filling..
