So... I decided to review and update my Anzio scenario in anticipation of a future patch. Especially the hierarchy module will be interesting (and a lot of work) for a further update of the scenario. For those of you that are familiar with the scenario, the most important changes from the last version (3.0) are:
- Changed conditions for a German Sudden Death victory. Now the event is triggered when the Geman player occupies any hex within a radius of 4 hexes from Anzio harbor (10, 27)
- Removed the Balkan Naval Air TO as from a deeper look into it I could not locate any torpedo units in X.Fliegerkorps; this was a misinfo I got from somewhere (where?)
- Changed the following scenario parameters: Combat Density Penalty 90 (was 120), Atrittion Divider 25 (was 20), Naval Attrition Divider 120 (was 25)
-->I hope that this will reduce losses on both sides as losses became really excessive in the mid part of the scenario. The amount of artillery both sides can muster mid scenario surely adds to this, which per se is not unrealistic or unhistorical but the amount of unit burn especially in soft equipment like infantry, light automatic weapons etc. across the board felt unhistorical (though in several cases this actually occured i.e. Br. 1st Inf.Div. suffered 40 - 60% losses in infantry during the battle for the Campoleone Salient, the Rangers lost a whole battalion at Cisterna, similarily during the German counterattacks attacking German units suffered heavy losses in the face of superior Allied artillery and naval artillery support especially in the Via Anziate area)
- Set the following force parameters for 14. Armee: Night Combat 33 (was 45), Precision Guided Weapons 10, Electronic Support 20
- Set the following force parameters for VI Corps: Night Combat 33 (was 40), Precision Guided Weapons 1, Electronic Support 25
