create a scenario from a saved game

hi, I started playing a campaign scenario with a friend using the 'hot seat' mode. But as he does not live nearby, we would like to switch to a PBEM mode. question: can we do this considering that we have already played several turns in hot seat mode? or alternate question: can we create a scenario from a saved game (i.e.generate .cgn and .dat files)? thx

I think your best bet might be to keep using hot seat and just email or drop box the save file back and forth.
