Probably not Spidey. Hard to justify including a boat just because it existed. Need for it to have some "utility", in game terms, in order justify it's inclusion.

Will you be including the Panay types at Manilla like the Luzon, Mindanao and Ohau?

The Dragonfly and Scorpion actually used in combat/ Deployed with HM River Gunboat SCORPION in support of military units during the retreat from Johore area.. Embarked soldiers of 15th Brigade which had been cut off during retreat Passage to Singapore.
What is at Sandheads?
In tracing ships at sea at the start of the war (for the babies mod) I find several shipping references for Sandheads. Google tells me it's in the Indian Ocean. Anyone know anything about it? Port facilities, size, bars and grills...?

Nevermind. John found it - it's at the entrance to Diamond Harbor.
Help wanted - small tankers in Philippines and NEI
Paraphrasing here, but I have a couple of references that basically state:
there were a large number of small tankers involved in local traffic in the Philippines and Netherlands East Indies in late 1941 but the army only took over two of them. These two, Hai Kwan and La Estrella Caltex, were requisitioned in the Manila area by the US Army Transport Command and used to pick up fuel in the Visayas for transport to Manila.
These two are in the Babies mod. Looking for others…
Stretching it with the 218th FA
When war began in the Pacific there were no less than 6 US Army Field Artillery Battalions enroute to the Philippines. One of them was the 1st Battalion, 218th Field Artillery Regiment (155mm Howitzer, Truck Drawn). This was the only 155mm-equipped FA Battalion and was (most likely) intended to be the medium FA battalion in a triangular Philippine Division.
1st/218th sailed on the Etolin on December 5th but the transport turned back after Pearl Harbor was attacked and the 1st/218th returned to California. This is where the stretch comes in…
1st/218th, originally scheduled for the Philippines, was transferred to the 204th FA (becoming 2nd/204th) and eventually 965th FA Battalion. It subsequently served in Europe.
2nd/218th was retained in the 41st Division and was re-designated as the 218th FA Battalion when the 218th FA Regiment was disbanded in February, 1942. It shipped out (with the division) to Australia in April, 1942,and subsequently fought through New Guinea and the Philippines. In the WITP Order of Battle it is accounted for by the 41st Division.
We’d like to include the transports and troops at sea on December 7th, but including the FA Battalion on the Etolin is difficult. We could add the 1st/218th (maybe as the 965th) with a December 12/21/42 withdrawal date. The unit would probably be restricted so, unless the US is invaded, the whole thing becomes a bit of a waste. Or we could place the 218th FA Battalion on the Etolin and end up with an extra FA battalion.
Thoughts, anyone…

RE: Stretching it with the 218th FA
I almost wonder if there is a point of diminishing returns Don. The extra battery would be nice on Wake, but it is an extra battery that really shouldn't be in the game.... tough call.
RE: Stretching it with the 218th FA
Sounds like a bit of an overstretch, Don.
We are all dreams of the Giant Space Butterfly.
RE: Stretching it with the 218th FA
Just my personal preference.
Several ships at sea on Dec 7. Dispatch instructions issued Dec 7 by CinCPac to return to port of origin. Etolin was 2 days out and received/obeyed orders to return.
Since she carried a "game-NoOp" unit, would prefer to keep her off-board, and have her appear at SFO on her actual return date. Since there were no threats along her actual path, there would be no game reason to have her physically on the game-board for those 2 days, and therefore no need for 1st/218th.
As I say, just personal preference.

Then you are really going to hate the 557th Air Warning Battalion...

That makes sense. There were air units involved too and those don't preload. It abosolutely pains me not to have something in the exact position as of Dec 7th, but I admit this is just too much.

No specifics yet ...but I'm on the trail.

We're mostly looking for "larger" coastal tankers that could make sea voyages. Way back in stock AE we decided to put in YO (Yard, or more accurately District Oilers) because they did make such voyages. YOs out of Pearl delivered fuel from Midway to Palmyra and others out of Noumea made the run to Tulagi and funtioned as station tankers. US Army in the Philippines and (especially) Australia/New Guinea, the Indian, Canadian, and Dutch navies, and (later) the Royal Navy in Burma all used coastal tankers for transport and/or dangerous-location refueling.
Little ones - river tankers and those YO that were too small to leave the harbor area are too small even for the Babes mod.

So this mod is not about replacing all the ship art work with LSTs sig banner and their friends? [:(]
We'd add that as a class of Misc. Auxiliary - if he'd just send us a picture without the text over.
LOL - just found that thread. Hey Don, you know the proverb "Be careful what you wish for, you may receive it"? [:'(].

RE: Da Babes Mod
Browsing around Arnold Hague's Convoy Database I am seeing numerous vessels that are not listed in the game's data. Here is one example: http://www.convoyweb.org.uk/bg/index.html
This shows a convoy that purportedly has a merchant vessel David Bushnell that isn't in the game while the escort and the other merchant is in the game.
If your still looking for merchants that poked there head in the game's theaters you might look at the site.
