Hi,

I've just released V1.0.6 which hopefully addresses the workshop problem on CMO.
(Start the viewer twice for autoupdate or redownload setup exe from https://command.lunex.net )
ORIGINAL: doabliptnk
-Steam App 321410 is for Command: Modern Air / Naval Operations (CMANO)
-Steam App 1076160 is for Command: Modern Operations (CMO)

Thanks for this info, I've based the update on this.
As I don't own Command: Modern Operations I can't really debug my code though :/

Please let me know if CMANO Scen View now works with the CMO Workshop ;-)

best regards

thanks, happy to hear that ;-)
As far as I remember not all scenario information is directly available in the files so its not possible to filter nations directly for example :/

I am using the integrated publishing function from visual studio which offers some kind of simple installer and update functionality.

You should find the software here after installing: C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\CMANOscenview

Given the plethora of scens we are blessed with, your tool is really handy when one need to find one.
Also, when I'm looking for a specific set up, your tool is my go-to solution.

Do you think there's any way to also extract which platforms are in the scenario ?

Hi ClaudeJ,

sadly much very interesting information is encrypted (!) inside the scenario file.
For example i would love to display involved nations in the grid with their flag, the needed info is in the scen file, just not accessible by me ;-)
So to answer you question, no I have already used & displayed all infromation available unencrypted for the scenarios.

Thanks Lumex. Then other paths, more labor-intensive, needs to be explored.

Cheers

Hi Lunex.

Just to say many thanks for your tool, it is extremely useful with so many scenarios available :P

And a request, when a scenario is found by description (full text), is it possible to highlight in the text the word(s) searched?

Hey Nikel,

thanks for your kind words :)
It's a long time since I've played Command the last time. I don't even own the latest installment.
Honestly I'am not motivated to expand the Scenario Browser at the moment but I take your suggestion at the improvement list, you never know ;-)

Best Regards,

Lunex,

Just my 2¢ but I've found the browser to be an extremely useful tool. I've referred your creation to several forum members since you first posted it.

Great work!

thank you very much :)
I still wonder a little why the Command devs didn't include a more features in the scenario dialogue - it is not that difficult and there definitive is a need for it

Hey everyone,
as probably my first but surely not last contribution to this forum, I wanted to say thank you to everyone involved in the creation and updating of the ScenView - It greatly helped me ease my way into the awesome world of Command. I usually need a way to be able to visualize the progress I'm making when learning new software, and the ScenView made it far easier by enabling me to track the scores I've been achieving and select scenarios based on a specific queries to get right what I need - the menu makes it only possible to sort by complexity or difficulty, which is frustrating for me as an early-to-mid level player, where looking for sweet spot challenges (in my case 2-4 dif, 1-3 compx still - but I'm learning and saving for a better hardware which could finally enable me to enjoy the monsters such as Carribean Fury in all their glory and without gamebreaking lag;"] Anyway - ScenView, from my little experience, is a fantastic tool. If like to give it a rating or a star on git. If it's still In development, a few minor suggestions for the new features which seem to be implementable without a need for total rework: a) When we enter the score, it's only the numerical value that's inserted, without a verdict, and since there's a high variation between scenario scores, it becomes less useful - you're still tracking your progress through time, but you can't eg. Generate a graph of your results, when it would show changing %a of Trymfs, Major Vic... Etc. Through time. This could be valuable for the community, since it could enable quicker and better informed feedback about the scenario difficulty level and balance. One perhaps simpler thing I'd suggest to implement would be a small popup during score insertion which would allow you to choose which side you played in scenarios with clear 2 sides to the story - like In many Live scenarios. It should be added just so we compare like with like and aren't confused which Iof these was my last Russian playthrough. Again, it would give the players a piece of information, some of them could use to help improve scenario quality. C. Would be an option to mark "scenarios of interest to you on the list" with a star, so you can create a Tobe played lists without need to mess up with the scenario files. But this are only minor suggestions from a POV of someone who started using ScenView when they started learning CMO - you may have your vision and that takes precedence,

Anyway, hope yall are having good time,
Cheers

The tool was created by Forum member "Lunex". I haven't seen him post for a while so I don't know if he is still active. Might be a good idea to check the Forum member list and pass your suggestions to him.
