We're aware of the performance issues and are investigating. Performance will improve, but it may take us a few hours to get things squared away and working as intended.

"Performance issues" is putting it very mildly. Right now it is unusably slow.

But you have also gotten rid of what was perhaps the most important feature of the old forum for me: the ability to create a "landing page" that showed only the game forums that I was subscribed to. So now I have to go to your main page and hunt and peck among the hundreds of games, or have separate bookmarks for each game I'm subscribed to. But in fact I'm not going to do either of those things, which means that I just won't be coming back to the forum much.

If I'm missing how this feature is implemented on the new forum, pls enlighten me, because I have not been able to find it.

Performance is not the correct term to use. Non-performance would be more correct.

And: Where are the download links? I wanted to download Kull's spreadsheet but there are no download links. Nor on the 11.26b page

Hopefully the performance improves because the forum is basically unusable in this state.

Just scrap phpBB and get a new something new like Discourse or Flarum or anything else modern. Really not that hard to set up.

I don't find the new design very welcoming. That may be because it is new, and could take time to get used to.

It feels cold and technical to me.

First time in this evening and it seems to be responding to commands just fine for me. Changed to Wide view and the grey colors, etc. look alright.
Hopefully the uploading and file size parameters are a lot more relaxed.

It is possible to add an option to hide headbar? It really distracts from reading a forum, do no want to block it manually with a ublock, not to break something.

Response time for me has vastly improved and isn't the slide show it was earlier. Page loading is a bit faster now, at least on some of the pages I've hit.

The performance issues seem to be resolved now, at least for me. Let me know if it's still slow compared to the old forum for any of you. For me now it's faster and no more of those time-outs the old one was experiencing.

We're still moving attached files over from the old forum and some of the attachment size limits appear to have not migrated over. If you see things wrong, please let us know and we'll keep fixing them until we're sure everything migrated over well.

As far as the top bar, that's intentional. The forum is part of the site, not separate from it and we want people to be able to see the key site sections up there.

I expect that's due to the ongoing attached file migration. If it's not an attached file that's not showing up, please post a link to the issue.

Erik: yes I think that those are attached images, it's happening in some AARs threads. Thanks.

One positive is that we can now delete our posts. There have been time when a post was put in the wrong place and it could not be deleted.

Page loading speed has really picked up lately. Well, for me anyway.
