Not a request for a specific platform here, but, I would like to see generic single-unit mobile infantry and armor battalions, with all associated weapons. This would make it easier to cobble together large mobile elements up to a division in size without drastically slowing down one's system with thousands of individual AU's. I've done it on a smaller scale with adding weapons records to a tank platoon but it's VERY time, and computer-resource consuming for a player to do without an editor.

Maybe something like these? If so, definitely.

Armored Bn (T-55 x 31) -- Generic (Army)
Armored Bn (+) (T-55 x 31; BTR-60 x 6 ) -- Generic (Army)
Armored Bn (+) (T-55 x 31; MT-LB x 10; SA-7 x 3) -- Generic (Army)
Armored Bn (+) (T-55 x 31; M113 x 12; SA-7 x 3) -- Generic (Army)

Armored BTG (T-72M1 x 31; BMP-1 x 10; SA-14 x 3; ZSU-23-4 x 2; 2S1 x 6) -- Generic (Army)
Armored BTG (T-72M1 x 31; BMP-2 x 10; SA-18 x 3; ZSU-23-4 x 2; 2S1 x 6) -- Generic (Army)
Armored BTG (T-90S x 31; BMP-1 x 10; SA-14 x 3; 2S6 x 2; 2S1 x 6) -- Generic (Army)
Armored BTG (M60A1 x 35; BMP-1 x 10; SA-14 x 3; ZSU-23-4 x 2; M109A2 x 6) -- Generic (Army)
Armored BTG (M48A3 x 35; M113 x 10; Redeye x 3; M163 x 2; M109A2 x 6) -- Generic (Army)

Mech Inf Bn (M113 x 38; Inf Sqd (RPG-7) x 27; SA-7 x 9; AT-4 ATGM x 6) -- Generic (Army)
Mech Inf Bn (BMP-3 x 35; Inf Sqd (RPG-29) x 27; SA-24 x 9) -- Generic (Army)

Mech Inf BTG (T-90S x 10; BMP-3 x 35; Inf Sqd (RPG-29) x 27; SA-24 x 9; 2S6 x 2; 2S19 x 6) -- Generic (Army)

Ok. Not a near term item but we'll add it to the list.

I believe we need to take a long hard look at how the generic ground units should be made up to make them useful. Copying orbats from Russian and US units hardly makes them generic for example. Since it isn't anything that will be happening soon I guess we have the time to get a concensus on a good solution.

Yeah and logically there is a bigger issue with how the unit will fight, move etc.

Definitely not a near term thing and might need a bit more than hacks to the database to work. Good news is the developers are still around and willing to help.

I'd just appreciate anything done along these lines, because large mobile fighting units are needed in-game, and I'd like to add them quickly, and as efficiently as possible, without killing my PC with hundreds of individual AU's fighting each other. With the right tools, I'd be happy to help develop and test the concept.... ;)

Soviet orbats are still in widespread use throughout the world - certainly enough to be generic. You might not get the exact right MANPAD for your Syrian motor rifle battalion, but generic means you'll get something close enough.

Mixing and matching US/Russian/etc equipment within widespread Soviet-style orbats certainly helps makes things generic.

Was there a point in time that this was in doubt? I've been away from CMNAO for a couple of months and might be out of touch...

Any chance of having the Chain Home radar system introduced into the CWDB?

Could I please request a Helicopter Wreck & Fighter Wreck? Maybe even Just Generic Small Wreckage, Medium Wreckage, Large Wreckage etc? I like to do extractions after my units are shot down. :)

You could just use a small building for this and rename it, if you want a halicopter to land there I think there is single unit airfield called helipad or similar.

I currently use cars & trucks to simulate the wrecks & just hover for extractions. It would be most excolent to have burning wrecks that could give off large visual & heat signatures to simulate smoke. Not sure how the insides of the database work but they could even turn of after awhile.

I noticed some mistakes about Japanese units.

Aircrafts:
SH-60K SeaHawk
-It carries AGM-114M HellfireII (not K) and only 2 missiles (not 4)
-It can carry Type 97 torpedo

F-2A/F-2B
-A/A loadout is:
4 BVRAAM(AIM-7M or AAM-4)
4 SRAAM (AAM-3, carrying AAM-5 is still testing)
1 300USG Droptank
-Anti-Ship loadout is:
4 ASM-2 or 6 GCS-1(Mk82 only. GCS-1 for JM117 has never used)
2 AAM-3
2 600USG Droptank
-CAS loadout is:
12 Mk82 or 4 GBU-54 LJDAM
2 AAM-3
1 300G Droptank
1 J/AQQ-2 FLIR

AAM-4 fitting was started from 2010, JDAM fitting was started from 2004.

P-3C Orion
-Japanese Orion can carry Type 97 Torpedo

Ships:
DD 107 Ikazuchi [Modified Murasame]
-This class doesn't exist. All Murasame class ship carry 76mm compact.

DD 101 Murasame
-From 2002(budgeted from this year), Murasame class ships modified to carry ESSM and Mk48 Mod4 VLS.

DD 110 Takanami
-This class carries 16 RUM-139 VLA and 16 RIM-7M Seasparrow in Mk41 VLS.
-This class can't carry ESSM yet. Modifing cost was budgeted this year.

DD 115 Akizuki
-This class carry Type 07 VLA, except Akizuki(She carries RUM-139 VLA).

HOS-303 Torpedo tube(on Hyuga and Akizuki class)
-This tube can launch Type 97 and Type 12 Torpedo.

Japanese VLA Warhead
-Japanese RUM-139 Warhead is not only Mk46, but also Type 97 and Type 12 torpedo.
-Type 07 VLA(Type 07 Vertical Launching Torpedo Projecting Rocket) Warhead is Type 97 or Type 12 torpedo.

Kongo, Atago, Amatsukaze, Hatakaze and Tachikaze class
-They are DDGs, not DD.

DDG 177 Atago
-This class has a Mk45 Mod4 gun, not OTO Melara 127mm.

DDH 181 Hyuga
-Torpedo tube is HOS 303.
-It says that carring additional 16 ESSM in ship(not in VLS)
-Its Hull sonar is OQQ-21. not OQQ-23

MST 463 Uraga
-This class has mine-laying capability(Type 3 Mine Laying Device)
-MST 464 Bungo has a 76mm OTO Melara compact Gun, Uraga hasn't.

IJN Kagi (CWDB)
-Her name is Kag"a", not i

Submarines:
SS 501 Soryu
-This class carries UGM-84L Harpoon BlockII.
-Sonar system is modified to ZQQ-7B from Unryu (2nd sub) and later.

Facilities:
SSM Coy(SSM-1B [Type 90])
-SSM-1B is only used on ships, not on ground.

SAM Bty (Patriot[PAC-2 GEM+, PAC-3])
-PAC-3 launcher carries only 8 PAC-3 missiles. No mix use.

And the followings are units I request to add DB

Middle range Multi-Purpose Missile
Type 87 Chu-MAT
