In France I am basically happy I am still there and not being completely thrown out. Have to settle for that and hope that 1944 will be better.

In Egypt/Libya the 8th army again try to launch launch an offensive to try and get to Tobruk. The army motto is "never give up".

In the east action ends with bad weather coming. In Libya the British continue to try and fail to achieve anything. But some Italian units were brought down to low strength.

1943 comes to an end. What can I say? The western allies have not really done anything, The Soviets have managed to occasioanlly destroy some German corps but the frontline have not advanced very much.
To take out both Italy and Germany in 2 summers I will need to come up with an amazing masterplan even then I dont know if it can be done but it will be exciting to see.
Here is the eastern front.

And finally forces and casualties.
The subs are still dealing damage, Escorts alone wont sink counters unless the axis player makes a mistake and I havent chased the subs as much as maybe I should have with landbased air and carriers.
In the air the German airforce was very low for a while but over this winter it is rebuilt and come summer 44 it was at full strength again around 280.
Soviet manpower has been low but never under 50% so far. Soviet army a bit low here as again I have disbanded some units to build more mech units,

Are you doing a strategic bombing campaign over Germany / Italy?
Chancellor Gorkon to Captain James T. Kirk:
You don't trust me, do you? I don't blame you. If there is to be a brave new world, our generation is going to have the hardest time living in it.

Re: MM (Allied) vs Nirosi (Axis) Nirosi welcome
Shame on you havent you read the whole AAR

Nirosi said they hurt for a while but then I stopped bombing and used them for other things. It is always a temptation to use them in ground support or subhunting because with their range they reach anything. Anyway flying and weather make them lose effectiveness so quickly but I fly anyway and because of that I probably take more losses. I have no statistics how much losses I have had so almost impossible to calculate allies vs axis production loss. Since you want to build them at the same time as you want to build an army and other airunits I am really not sure if they are worth the effort, I feel they and all airunits could use a small buff or decreased production cost. 7 strat bombers or 7 arm corps feels like not a very hard choice. Another idea I have now is maybe to wait building till after you built the army and other airunits so by summer 44 you can have some and try to bomb Germany in 44 and 45 alone.

Bad weather all around so not much happening. But it seems that the Axis HQ decided to give up Tobruk. 8th army follow but I know once you get near the port in Libya you have 0 supply so I followed a bit and then retreated back to the ports I now control.

The situation in on the various fronts when clear weather is in sight.
France the situation still looks pretty grim.
The weather is good in the Mediterranean so the operation to capture Sardinia begins.
And the Soviet buildup on the eastern front. The Soviets now have 26 mech/arm corps with which I hope to spank some sense into the Axis
.
Oh I have discovered multipicture in a post that will be useful in the future

In the east the weather turn cold and the Red Army prepare to attack only to find out that the axis preempted the Soviet move and made a pretty large retreat to the west.

Operation "Overwhelm" begins with landings in Norway and Denmark. Trying to stretch the German forces as much as possible.
In France I will try to advance where there are no rivers in the thin river valley of the Seine and the Loire. thats the plan for now anyway.
In the east around Leningrad we actually managed some kind of operational surprise. I had 4 mech units behind the frontline and it seems like the German intelligence did not realise they were there. A breakthrough is achieved.
On the central front advance continues.
And in the south a breakthrough south of Kiev

The situation so everyone knows now when summer arrives. The allies have to knock out both Germany and Italy in 2 summers. If not the Axis wins as they will have more VPs
Forces and casualties. The subs still annoying I am almost running out of escorts and MM.
Operation Overwhelm continues now with an invasion of Greece.
On Sardinia the Axis reinforces with a German corps. Sardinia wont be given up without a fight.
I try to dig in along the Kiel canal but strong German reinforcements are coming in. Understanably since the allies are now close to Berlin.

Leningrad seems to have seen the last of the German invaders.
Fighting on the central front.
Advance on the southern part of the front.
And in the far south Odessa falls and the Red army are close to the Rumanian border. I am happy with the rate of advance so far but I havent inflicted that much losses.
