Since this thread has gone into hibernation, CotA has gained over a hundred new players.   Perhaps more than a few of them are interested in maintaining an active “ladder”.

So, for the benefit of all, this thread gets a shameless bump.

The best way to get games, if enough people join it and hang there, has got to be battle HQ. No need to arrange battles, just log in and wait for opponents to turn up-

Perhaps that's true for some, but for me, it is far more likely that I will see an e-mail notification rather than noticing another player at B. HQ.  No harm in regeristing at both-I will look at the other system.
However, the ladder is the easiest way to keep track of who and when you play.

OK, so I installed the B.HQ client and registered.  So, anyone out there want to try this HQ thing?

I noticed the spelling also-I could understand it if it was me typing, but a "web master"?
Anyway, I am game for a small game-if I'm not called back into my Malta multiplayer game tonight. I'll watch for you there. BTW, I don't know if their system is going to work for CotA, but it's worth the try.

Maybe they thought it was an inter-galactic fantasy game about the AAs conquering the Aegens[:D]

I'll watch for you there.

Was in and out all night. Another time...
