I had a chance to play the game briefly and the gameplay was excellent, basically same as the old X-Com but updated with modern graphics.

Which means you're holding out on us! You're just doing it to be mean!

BTW, I've sold like 5 copies of this game already to friends that were x-com fans. It may not be a blockbuster, but I think that it could be a sleeper (if it has the great game play of the first game).

Note that we're doing the online release rather than the retail release, which is being done by TriSynergy and they are in charge of the marketing. I had a chance to play the game briefly and the gameplay was excellent, basically same as the old X-Com but updated with modern graphics.

Don't judge the game by the intro movie (don't judge a book by its cover, etc.).

Erik~ I'll pay $25 extra for you to DCC it to me.... Just *ring it up* once the release is actually official. If anything else, I'd give you $25 extra to make me an unpaid employee/intern for a day [;)] Before today, I probably would have offered $50 extra.... As time passes, the more worried I get.

The only thing that i am starting to get concerned about at this point is that normally there is someone from Matrix or a developer helping to pump up a game in the forums. You'd think that would be the case with, while not a true sequel, this one that seems to hold so much promise for X-Com fans.

I'd expect some sort of hype.Unless that is why it was put off to get marketing into place, but two weeks doesn't seem like a long time to get that into place.

Yeah but what a fugly cover it is!!! [:D] It get's my vote for all time worst intro movie, I just hope there is a way to skip it..or better yet get someone else who's not the worst voice actor of all time to re-do his parts. The original X-com intro wasn't great by any means but it was cheesey good not cheesey bad...and had that great ping, ping, ping, ending that gave it a creepy tone.

I haven't laughed that hard at disinterested voice acting since the first Resident Evil game.

He is the master of the lockpick.[:D]

Oh, it wasn't even that good. It was along the lines of "You take the keys, as you are the master of unlocking." Because, you know, most people REALLY struggle with those damn key locks...luckily you're an expert. [:D]

anyway, I'm not gonna judge the game nobody has really seen yet based only on this intro. hopefully, rather than hiring good voice actors, they spent their money on game production.

Come on guys...

Obviously, nobody's played Space Rangers 2 - talk to me about some intro-movie voice acting that'll make you gouge your eardrums out.

Yet somehow, the game ended up OK.
