Before too long, the Dutch won't speak a word of Dutch, either. Isn't English their official language? Or is it just unofficially official?

The Dutch very often speak German (and I am not referring to the fact that the Germans in 19th century US were called 'Durch').
Before too long however, the Netherlands might totally disappear if the oceans' level rise too high.

The Dutch speak Dutch. They have had English (& German) as a second language since WW2.

Sacramento area.  Two family members {brothers} died fighting for a Texas Regiment {not sure which one}.  This is from my mom's {Vanatta} side.  For a while, their commander was {I think Division commander} was John B. Hood.  To the best of my knowledge, none of my father's family fought {they were mainly from the Wisconsin area} despite the family name being of all things.......Hood.

And Hood was from Kentucky but adopted Texas as his homestate during his service at the frontier.

My Grandmother on my Mother's side has roots in the Missouri "bootheel"..., but all the rest of my ancesters immigrated here after the Civil War. They were more worried about Prussia vs. France than North vs. South..., three of them served with Von der Tann in 1870-71.

I was born in OHIO but I always have been a Copperhead at heart, something about the Constitution. Lived  mostly south fla in my youth, now live west of Paducah. Been to some of the battlegrounds and fort sites. Columbus-Belmont(Grants first battle,he lost) It was called the Gibralter of the Mississippi and had a huge chain across the river. It was made untenable after the fall of Henry and Donelson.

Funny. I thought Missouri would be much better represented. I guess Missourians are just the most vocal on the forum. [:D]

Rule Brittannia,
Brittania Rules the waves,
Britons never, never, will be slaves!

(well, not since the Roman period, not counting the slave like Fedul system running from then through to the industrial revolution, or the near slavery wages and contract of said marvel of the modern world.)

To conceptually borrow from the "Generals with no Home State" thread: I may have lived in NC for 10 years but that is just an act of the business gods. If the ACW II broke out tomorrow, I'd be heading back to Chicago.

How you got there might be another story [;)]

I've been to Chicago several times and have had some fun, but personally, I prefer NC. Give me Blue Ridge Parkway any day over Lake Shore Drive. Yet I can't blame anyone from missing thair home state and the family there. Plus the Bears are always fun to watch. And the Cubs are fun to watch lose.

I Have a friend in Shaumburg (sp) one in Arlington Heights and another 3 blocks away from the stadium in Wrigglyville right on Addison(sp). Yes he's straight. Hear there are a lot of queers in that area. Gotta go back soon for some more Wrigglyville Dogs. MMMMMMMM.

It's probably not to "politically correct" in a gaming forum to make expressions this way.[:-] and I'm a fellow Missourian.

Who wants to be politically correct anyways? Keep your Newspeak. Plus, not sure what you are refering to Sir.
