Frank, I am ecstatic that you are still planning on releasing Imperial Ambition, since this is one of my favorite eras as well. You have quite a nice selection of games on your plate.[&o]

[:)]Very elegant game, i too find i can't stop playing it. It is a refreshing change from wargames i've been playing and the design IMHO is something i'll enjoy for quite some time. Thank you, may i please have another?[:D]

I also just wanted to add that CLGA2 covers not just the 1806 campaign but also the Spring and Autumn campaigns of 1813 plus more.
OK. I bite, what is CLGA2??? Gosh I hope I don't regret this question...[8|]

Thanks for the support guys!
You've earned it. GOA is a superior product.

And yes I still plan on finishing the long-delayed Imperial Ambition (politics, economics and war in Europe in the age of Bismarck and Napoleon III) because the period is a favourite of mine.
That sounds unbelievably cool. Best of luck in your endeavour.
RE: Thanks Frank
Ditto on all the above comments, Frank. This game is just wonderful. My only regret is that I haven't had the time yet to really dig into it yet, but I'll make some time real soon. Thank God we have an intelligent, fun game that's NOT WWII or American Civil War. This period has been so overlooked in the wargaming industry until just recently. It's guys like you and Ted Raicer who have breathed new life into the hobby. And if Imperial Ambition is anything like Guns of August, I'm going to have to quit my job! Great work!
I do have two minor sound issues with GOA:
1) I get aircraft sound effects on the Naval Zone control screen. I'm sure you wanted naval guns blasting there;
2) Can you get a more thundersous sound for the barrages - these sound like pop guns!
Thanks again and best of luck with your future projects.

Yep, Frank, you did a hell of a job with this game. The more I play it, the more I appreciate it. It does have the right "feel" to it for a WW1 game.
Thanks.
Thanks.

I'll just have to say again, this is a brilliant game. I'm 53. I've been around. This game is special. It has a chesslike quality, a simplicity but complexity. The AI is very good. This is fun. It creates tension. It makes you think. I found myself last night wanting to play just one more turn. Great game.
RE: Thanks Frank
Wow! comments are overwhelmingly positive for this game. I guess I will put it on my next buy list!

Agree, JW. I'm 52, and been gaming since AH's Gettysburg in '64. This is one of the best games I've purchased this year. The first time I've laid awake at night again just thinking "...one more turn".
I think the reception GoA first got is due to the relative differences in the play experiences of the various groups of buyers. Older gamers like ourselves are very familiar with the mechanics Frank is using here, and more quick to appreciate the automation of various boardgame conventions they replace.
GoA has a great depth, especially in various start-up deployments. I have a number of mobilizations saved in the setup files now.
A very elegant design, imho.

mereman, I knew you were an old fart.
Something else. Thanks to Frank for coming to the forum and commenting frequently and in detail. That is very much appreciated. It is what tipped me to violating my personal rule and buying the game before the first patch. Not that I've always followed that rule, but I usually do. And btw it often leads me to not buying at all after the comments start pouring out. It was clear in this case from the start, after the brief discussions about the interface, that the game was great.

Hey mereman,
I'm 54 too! Glad I'm not the only geezer out here!!
I haven't bought this game yet, and after buying 4 new tires for my truck this morning won't for a while! But it sure sounds good.

Isn't it a bummer when the unimportant things in life keep you from purchasing a game?! [;)] [;)]

Hey LarryP,
Man, wargaming is an older hobby isn't it?
Yeah - it bugs me big time that have to things like pay bills, buy tires, etc. If I could do away with that just think of all the wargames I could buy! Then if I could do away with work I might even get to play most of them!!
