Ok Allied Winter 42 here

a turn is skipped I think for AAR

Basically Allied land have fallen back to West India after large Axis force in Middle East was overwhelming

Italian HF and LF had overextended themselves to move off Kenyan coast which had let an Allied LF slip around from Madagascar and with the TAC blockade supply to these units

Now RN reinforcements arriving from around the Cape and India see them off

TAC usefully swipes an ART in Northern Persia, but look at the Caucasus a little slim for Russia

Germany must be going for Barb but Germany only has 108 supply not quite enough to assault and fix stuff in same turn

Calm before storm

Wonder if Kharkov is target?

If it is that might require all the armour

In the Atlantic no subs sunk but torpedos run down to 2 out of the 4 subs

No more in Germany so CAP is put out to make France harder for resupply or heading port

RAF is doing a good job even through Axis flak now in place

AXIS TURN SPRING '42

Well well what an interesting turn with Franco coming onboard and just before barbarossa...an event that will no doubt change the shape of the war...

Like Ben mentioned axis forces could have done with more supply for Barbarossa and there are still heaps of resources that need to get fixed as wel l[:-]

Soviets have also amassed a huge army so axis no chance of securing karkov, instead wehrmacht only abel to roll into eastern poland and kiev, losses are only modest with soviets using the extra time taken to start barbarossa to increase evasion tech levels [:(]

Lack of huge supply stockpile means that only rail lines able to be repaired...

Meanwhile back in the middle east rommel just keeps on rolling this time an expenditonary force is sent in to probe the soviet breadbasket of west kazakstan [:'(]. Last turn the politcal emergency caused by the conquest of persia meant that Soviets were able to reinforce the caucasus with tank and artillery division [:@] so no possiblity of advancing there...

Back in the med franco's forces seize gibraltar and secure the mediterranean passage...

Subs continue to skirt aroud the atlantic taking out trannies...

Over in the east japan continues inland and take over chungking, crack troops from the battle of changsha are redeployed to threaten the DEI...only problem is that francos allegiance i think has tipped the U.S into DOW so could be problems next turn as Japs navy not in position...

Will post pictures soon...

Allies Spring 42

DOW did tip over and Allies found themselves scrambling to put in ad hoc offensive in pacific at same time as russians recover from Barb

In Denmark a lone ART is knocked out and little expedition force lands to draw German forces which would otherwise head east. Not expecting to hang on here it will also prob draw 2 x ARM in east Germany - nuisance

Also Baltic German HF wiped out with new US carrier assistance

Couple of Med trannies also blown up by CAP air and Iraq rail busted by lucky goldstar TAC in India and an Italian TAC in Spain

In Pacific LFs do a reasonable job shredding Jap trannies from Pearl, Java and Andaman

Siam is sabotaged

Singapore, Java and Sumatra are all reinforced to slow down DEI force in Indochina which will know have to focus rather than go for all it could have with suprise

In russia

Lone German Inf in W Kaza is surrounded to prevent further movement and make a move from Persia with other forces suicide. Caucasus bumped up too

Factories in Belo and Smolensk sucked up

Kharkov which is in contact is stacked up to be a parity force. They have more offence in armour 9/7 but we have have better defence 8/8

They are outgunned 2 to 1 with better russian ART so we should hold as long as the small Red Air can stop German combined arms and rail bonus Russian loss

One of the things I had done is feed a few INF in to Eastern Poland

They are mostly lost but it ties up alot of German INF where they can't do much until they have moved east and Germans didn't get and fix much rail

Baltics was evacuated and russian baltic fleet is out and blew up a German trannie off finland

AXIS TURN SUMMER '42

Air force destroyed  over Kharkov with massive luftwaffe push and russian fleet is annihilated in the Baltic...

Wallies are turfed out of Denmark after suicide deployment to tie up german tanks heading east...wehrmacht rolls one step closer to Moscow...looks to be a standoff in Kharkov for now...

India is also threatened...and Japanese prepare to take singapore...U.S DOW has meant that nuisance artillery has been deployed to the DEI...

Axis Fall 42

OK I'll describe full Fall 42 turn

Major axis effort was big assualt on Kharkov which included knocking out rail. Besides the screenshot German FT, HB and TAC damaged prior.

All but 1 Russian tank now in build queue but decent attrition of German forces esp ART and Kharkov is still Russian with 1st winter turn next

Other actions Persia was retaken by Axis and 4 damaged trannies by subs

In Russian turn Kharkov was majorly reinforced. Small attrition attack from Veli to Eastern Poland. Small reinforcements to face North Persia from Caucasus and Kazakstan

End of turn around east India - Allies had retreated from Singapore in previous turn but have put 2 INF and an ART in Borneo

East Indian forces patched up to hopefully fend off Japanese land forces

Japan had sunk a 2 trannies used to move to Borneo and keep Sumatra in supply chain, and a BB that had sheltered in Bismark Arch after raiding from Pearl. Also sub damaged

TAC and CAP air bombard Saudi with RN help and get ART out

Lone MIL there is kicked out by Brit INF from IEA. Maybe can now create a chance to cut off far eastern Axis forces

Well we're back and playing after a week of intermission, BenT has been busy at work...

Ill start off with previous turn...

AXIS WINTER '43

Well the massive stand off in Kharkov spooked the axis (soviets had large amount of supplies come in through archangel so could have managed a counter attack...i think), and given that axis forces are frezeing their asses off with inappropriate equipment and clothing a massive pullback is ordered to avoid any unnecessary losses from the Russian winter...

So majority of the german turn focuses around axis withdrawn in kiev and expansion of axis economy by repairing supplies damaged in allied bombing
raids...

Axis do however venture into southern persia to threaten indian forces which are still a threat to the middle east and a number of trannies are also sunk in the atlantic again...

So before and after in europe...

BEFORE

In the Pacific however things arent as bland, with the IJN getting into action in the indian ocean to help sure up german positions in the midle east and india and seriously threaten british supply lines...

To start off a veteran carrier unit is sent into attack HMS Indomitable lurking around the gulf of aden with better than expected results ending up in the british carrier sent to the bottom of the sea with no japanese losses...and with the jap carrier sitting where it is there are going to be plenty of op fire oppurtunities for retreating british ships [:D]

a LF is also attacked by a second carrier of the western coast of india...

Following the cut in british supply lines japanese forces amphibously land in southern india to prevent further production of supplies and majority of IJA chinese expeditionary force push into mandalay to threaten calcutta...

Meanwhile in the DEI, musashi's massive 18" badboys bombard coastal artillery batteries in sumatra and para troopers succesfully land there, booting out the ghurkhas and allowing japan to access the tasty resources.....[;)]

Other than that things are relatively slow for the japanese...as mentioned before the US DOW really stuffed up expansion operations with a large number of transports getting sunk and giving mccarthur time to set up artillery positions to slow progress....(need to watch this closer next time)...

So the scene in the indian ocean:

As BenT is a little busy im doing the AAR for the allies turn...

So in WINTER 43 it looks like the soviets are generally content to build up supplies and forces whilst avoiding any conflict however the USN starts taking some pretty big risks in the pacific...

Picutre of soviets building up forces in leningrad, red army has also pushed into northern persia...
