......................... Pennant Race 1921 - 20 games left .........................
American League
The Detroit Tigers {83-53} have a 2 1/2 game lead over the St. Louis Browns {80-55}. The intriguing part is that these 2 teams meet on OCT 1st and 2nd to end their seasons. The Boston Red Sox {69-60} are the closet team in 3rd place, 10 1/2 games out.
National League
This race is close as well, but involves almost everybody. The Cincinnati Reds {72-62} hold a 1 game lead over both the Pitsburgh Pirates {71-63} and the Boston Braves {71-63}. The Chicago Cubs {69-65} are 3 back, the New York Giants {68-70} are 6 back.

I think this is a knee-jerk reaction by the Yankees' management. I bet they will regret this trade someday. [;)]

Somebody on the Braves must have played out of his mind to drag that team to the pennant!
P.S. The Cardinals' performance was very disappointing.

They led the Majors with a 2.99 ERA and 6th in BA with a .276 avg. Pitching I think was the huge factor

RE: 1921 - Deadball A Memory
Oooh, can I take control of the Cardinals for just a second? Thank you. I'll re-sign Jim Bottomley, sign Dave Bancroft, and trade somebody to the Phillies for Chick Hafey. Ok, you can have 'em back now. [:D]
I like this transaction summary, by the way. Neat idea!
