Cool! After 8 years, we now have map hot spots!

Command Ops: Battles From The Bulge takes the highly acclaimed Airborne Assault engine back to the West Front for the crucial engagements during the Ardennes Offensive. Test your command skills in the fiery crucible of Airborne Assault’s “pausable continuous time” uber-realistic game engine. It's up to you to develop the strategy, issue the orders, set the pace, and try to win the laurels of victory in the cold, shadowy Ardennes.
Command Ops: Highway to the Reich brings us to the setting of one of the most epic and controversial battles of World War II: Operation Market-Garden, covering every major engagement along Hell’s Highway, from the surprise capture of Joe’s Bridge by the Irish Guards a week before the offensive to the final battles on “The Island” south of Arnhem.

Okay, that works. I've kept Windows muted for so long, that I forgot about the WAV files that it associates with actions. LOL, and the "Windows Ding" in W7 is pretty darned anemic.

A rainy dreary afternoon. A good day to code.

So, I have started on PGEv03. What will be in PGEv03 (if anyone is using this)?

* Persistent hot spots depending on your answer at start up. Meaning hot spots can be saved across multiple gaming sessions. Useful for long scenarios. (An INI file stores values.)

* WYSISWYG ("What you see is what you get"). It will be possible to nudge hot spots left/right/up/down and as you do so the display will refresh to reflect this. Thus, allowing for hot spots to be set very precisely.

PGE.zip: PGEv02 has been replaced with PGEv03

Coded and tested. (see previous post for improvements)

Could this be made a sticky?

I've just spent 20 minutes trying to find this utility (thinking it was a sticky).

First time round I read it and thought "interesting but I'm not sure I'll need it". Now I know I do. Single key move and zoom in to a critical area - brilliant.

That site wants me to log on and all that. No thanks. Can someone host their file on a free site without the requirements?

Yeah. Too bad is right. They might want to delete that thread or sticky.

Dave,

I still have it (interpreted code, compiled code, source, reference docs). I would be happy to turn it over to you for upload to the Members Area. Of course, I thought that once you actually tried it, you might think it so cool that you would finally build the functionality into the map subsystem! :) {I only asked for this during HTTR development 10+ years ago!}

M-Reb,

I have responded via email.

It works for HTTR/COTA/BFTB as they all have the same basic map UI architecture. Thus, my code makes hardly any distinction between the three.

Got it and responded back. Thanks again.

Is there a reason to restrict the download to the Members area only, or could it be hosted say on Dropbox?
I could, if someone can send it to me...

Well, the members area is not a big deal ... it's just like registering for the forums.

I can certainly throw it up on my business server. Let's wait to hear what Dave wants to do.

Thanks.

I sent it up to Erik at Matrix on the 19th to have it made available. So it's with them at the moment

Hang it here it is. I have renamed it by changing the extension from .zip to .txt so that I could upload it here. You will need to download it, save it to your hard drive, rename it back so the file extension reads ".zip" and then unzip it and follow the Read Me instructions in the unzipped folder.
