About those DLC's?

Achtung Panzer:Operation Star is an Eastern Front wargame with solid graphics and sprawling battlefields that really emphasize the scope of WWII tank combat. The gameplay is a remarkably realistic turn-based and real-time operational/tactical hybrid wargame that continues the series begun by the acclaimed Achtung Panzer: Kharkov 1943.

The funny thing is that nothing is mentioned about drm on their site that I could find and a search has produced details of a not so friendly company to deal with and some kind of drm scheme. I'm not sure if they still use one, but as of this moment I do not have enough details to purchase from them with any kind of confidence. Their site states that you are sent a link but other than that there are very little details that I can ascertain anywhere.

Icebox, can you elaborate on the subject further?

They email you a link to your order details and a link for the game download. Please note, the download link will expire after 120 hours from now or after 5 attempts, which ever event happens first. Then you download file, extract file and this is what you get.

Thanks again ice. Might have to try it since it is only $10. Not much of a risk.

So which DLC do you recommend? Volokonovka 1942 or Sokolovo 1943?

Yeah, was leaning towards that one just for the summer ambiance. Gonna pull the trigger in the morning. Too tired now to jump through any hoops tonight.

Thanks again Ice.

I'm reloading Star after a long break. It seems patching is a bit complicated. Do the DLCs bring Star up to date?

No, you need to download the 577 core update and run it, then the 7c Patch (dated Feb 2012). That's the only patch you need.

The DLCs came out before the patch.

Install in this order:

1. 577 Core Update
2. Patch 7c
3. DLC whatever
4. DLC whatever

Wierd I uninstalled and when restarted my player profile was still there,as for the patch I tried to run and it asks me to extract files,I did that to desktop and am unable to install in the update utility.[&:]

My player profile was still there too, no problem.

1) Download and unpack patch to any folder.
2) Run update utility (click on game version top right corner in main menu).
3) In the window that appears, click "Install" button and select "CORE\desc.addpack" file
in folder with unpacked patch.
4) Wait for the installation.
5)Click "Save and Play" button.
6)Then do same with dlc

You player profile is stored in a different folder somewhere, I'm guessing.

I was advised by Graviteam to create a new profile and delete my old one when I had some crashes after patching. Just so you know that's an option...
