Hi all,
ORIGINAL: Nikademus

so asking the dumb question as one who hasn't known the pleasure that is LEGO since oh......longer than i'll admit.....

How do these wonderful creations come about? are the parts custom made? Is it an actual kit you can buy?

I still have several hundreds (thousands) LEGO pieces safely stored... [:)]

I think (and see) that they used standard LEGO bricks combined with some specialized LEGO sets (in order to get some specific items like gun tubes)... for example that is visible on "Fuso" model... the "Yamato" model, on the other hand, uses standard long bricks for gun tubes...

If I showed this to my wife, she'd put the divorce lawyer on speed dial.

If they had this when I was a kid, my mom would've had me sent to a little rubber room somewhere, hoping that my I did not infect my dad.

Maybe I can show it to my dad now..........

Those are beautiful... I hardly find the time to work on my 1/350 platic-and-photo etch post-conversion Maya... to build one of those I'd have to quit society... and AE. The first may not be that bad, but the second... no dice! :)

In a "that's what she said" moment: Wow that's big!

Seriously, that takes more patience and creativity than I could ever wring out of my bones, very impressive! I can't wait to hear about your next project.

I looked at my girlfriend and I got the "it's not going to happen" look....
