RE: 1938 GD game
I´ll have to correct myself a bit.
Cities that are NOT russian, would not count their production to this list...

What sets the multipliers to convert from production points to units produced ?
History began July 4th, 1776. Anything before that was a mistake.

Shouldn't 100% production be simply given to the player at some point ? What's the 100% based on ? A certain year ?

If you had purchased it in 1938 it would have been around 338.

I at one point honestly considered doing that. But then I reminded myself that the game is anything else but a simulation. This is a game of free actions. So players have been given the freedom to decide when they want to focus on economy and when they want to focus on war production, research, and other stuff.
The 80% which you have been set at, to begin with, is an expression of two things. Firstly the total amount of production is based on GDP for the year of 1938, and the 80% is an expression of how efficient I believed that that countries work force was.
Increasing to 100% thus represents and increase in efficiency of your own peoples industry.
Increasing it further expresses that same thing.
If you start off by building factories, you have more or less chosen not to pursue an increase in efficiency. Instead you have chosen to simply build more production, without increasing the efficiency. If you later want to increase efficiency, then the factories production will be included in the calculation (chemical factories will not). This is because increasing efficiency would increase production of those factories as well...
Lesson learned here: Build your efficiency up, before you invest in factories.

Not sure I like losing manpower for factories. But at least it has a reason for being true although women could have been used in factories.

Yes, hats off to the mods. Great work.
Actually I wouldn't mind playing China again if that's possible.

Great China it is Larry would like the Japanese and I would like to try the Soviet Union. Leaving UK/France Germany/Italy. I guess that leaves us looking for one more player.

RE: 1938 GD game
Thinking it over I will take Great Britain and France. Germany takes even more time, and this will be my fourth game.

It does sound like a good idea to me, it might need to be tuned a bit but it sounds like a 2 birds with one stone kind of thing.

I would like to propose we do not use "Allied shared recon" in this game. It can prevent alliances when things get complicated. In game 14 GB cannot make an alliance with China because the USA is at war with China, and allied with GB. The USA would see all of the enemy, and vice versa.
I also feel that too much is shared. One can always send selected screenshots to allies, but often there are things we want private, even from allies. It only requires a click of a button to break an alliance with a DoW.
This brings up another point. I would like to negotiate an end to an alliance without going to war. Perhaps a choice to end the alliance in three months to give everyone time to move out of an allies' territory.
