add ons in scenerios etc.

Campaign Series: Vietnam is a new turn-based, tactical/operational war game that focuses on the Indochina War, Vietnam Civil War and the first years of US involvement in Vietnam with over 100 historical scenarios.

From the 8.5 Section:
It is essential you have completed your scenario fully before you create the .lua file as any edits afterwards to the scenario file (adding new units, changing objectives, etc) will require you to generate a new .lua file.
That I wrote from experience of trying to edit lua files that I had been working after adding new landing zones, or larger formations, or objectives. While it is possible to do, there are a lot of opportunities for error (which I had done, over and over).

Not all edits will require you to create a new lua file, but major surgery in the scenario editor to a scenario might have it that it is required.

I was wondering if the current version of CS:Middle East also requires this level of modding when just adding a few units?

I seem to remember adding some units to the AI attacking force in CS:ME without touching the Lua, and they went in aggressively.

Thanks!

CSME 2.01 does not.

CSME 3.00 will require, yes, because CSME 3.00 will update the game to CSVN standards.

Sounds good, then. I will miss the ability to quickly modify scenarios, but I understand the benefits of the more complex Lua coding to create a very deep role-playing wargame experience.
