I never tried to take Norway on turn 3, as ncc1701e rightly says, it's an unnecessary risk.

I would weaken the norwegian unit of Narvik so germany can take it at the same time as Oslo.
My native language is Spanish, and no English language mastery, sorry.

If I can convince everybody why Narvik is a problem. If you are invading Norway and if UK can put a land unit in Narvik the same turn, you are in trouble.

Why?

Because of the way Port Supply is done in the game. UK has absolutely no issue to supply its units there.

In WP2, if we could have transport ships really travelling to transport supplies to the units in Port Supply. And if we could have air and naval units intercepting these transport ships. Then, it would cost a lot to UK; losing ships after ships to try to supply its units.

Well technically you can push away the UK.

They take Narvik
You put 3 stukas.
They try to protect the port with fleets.
You pound the fleets until they run away.
You port blockage.
They try to move ships to attack
Air auto intercepts they are forced to flee.
You pound the land unit not getting enough supplies
It loses effectiveness.
You attack and eventually pound them to dust.

Does it take a lot of resources? Of course it does.

But that's why you need to take Narvik as well.

The Germans got lucky taking it but it cost them 10 DDs.
They Allies never invaded it because it tied up 200,000 German troops

3 stukas? No, this is impossible they are not in range with the terrain. Need to buy airfields.
You port blockade? No, this is impossible in WPE.

And with the weather, your land and air units are losing effectiveness much more attacking and resting than the UK defending units.

I know this because it did happen to me. It took me until June 1941 to retake it.

No really, the cost in transport ships for supplying units in ports must be count as well. An enemy must have the possibility to intercept and sink supplies and transports during the Port Supply process. This is for Narvik, Malta, any port in Syria when invaded by Axis, Pacific of course, ...
