The game I've been waiting for

Gary Grigsby's World At War gives you the chance to really run a world war. History is yours to write and things may turn out differently. The Western Allies may be conquered by Germany, or Japan may defeat China. With you at the controls, leading the fates of nations and alliances. Take command in this dynamic turn-based game and test strategies that long-past generals and world leaders could only dream of. Now anything is possible in this new strategic offering from Matrix Games and 2 by 3 Games.

Clash of Steel is probably my most-played-game of all time. Still has it on my comp - fantastic game. Strikes just the right balance between micromanagement, pace of playing, scale, and Fun! for me :) WiR just comes in second - sorry Gary :/

Hope the good Matrix people don't mind me promoting a competing wargame (It's from 1994, so shouldn't be too hard on them :P )

Anyways - this is a paper on what makes Clash of Steel great - a good read for any wargame designer / player:

A good read! :)

IF you loved clash of steel I'm really surprised you havnt played strategic command; strategic command is basically a improved clash of steel. They are working on strategic command 2 atm.

But definatly get strategic command while you wait for this game. I spent many long hours playing that one.

thats their website. I hope WaW will be a axis and allies like game but so much better then the orignal computer game :)

so far from what I read it sounds like it.

Huh?

This edition is simply HoI with the latest patch and latest CORE as a bonus. Where is the rushing you mention? It's simple marketing attempt to sell the game to the new customers now, when it finally works pretty good. [:D]

Anyway, it's OT...

WaW can be really fun game. Again, no way to compare it with HoI 1/2 (huge difference in detail level), but it seems it's gonna be vastly superior to SC 1/2. [:'(]

Well, only 33 more years till retirement, hopefully by then I will have all the time and money to play all the great games that are coming out

Here in the States you would be 37 O_O or have a really good investment plan for early retirement ^_^
I can't wait that long so I will play them now and go through a series of dead-end jobs since I will keep being late to work [:D]

it is www.the-underdogs.org not .com [;)]

I'm really excited for this game also. From what I've read so far this sounds like it is turning out to be my dream game. This makes me a very happy man. [:D]

Be careful using Underdogs...many of the downloads contain spyware so if you have Ad Aware or some other spyware checker, use it after you DL a game from underdogs..
