others (most) would be using those cheapie free mics that come with computers. Those are fine for VoIP, but not great for use in a game.
With phones audio quality isn't very good, I guess it isn't much better in military communication gears and thus it don't need be good in Starshatter if we assume talking goes through headsets. Besides once recording is made, quality can be improwed with programs... I think.
You know what they say, don't you? About how us MechWarriors are the modern knights, how warfare has become civilized now that we have to abide by conventions and rules of war. Don't believe it.

For what its worth, there is a HUGE difference between military voice communication technology and the mics used with personal computers...miltary voice coms must be clear and audible...if they arent, people die...I promise you, the governments of the world do not do their shopping at CompUSA...

I dunno...some of the HF radios we used were way inferior to commercial radios. It's kind of humiliating when you're military and you need an airliner to relay an overwater position report for you.

Even some of the EHF comms aren't always crystal clear.

Yeah, but commercial airlines don't do their shopping at CompUSA either...

Military equipment is usually some years behind consumer standard, so that's unsurprising.

@Razeam> I can do that but I don't want to.
