Hello , here in Italy it has published a short note onto a newspaper announcing about a new TV-serie called Band of Brothers in USA..I can't say when we will have those movies here in Italy , but I am looking for them..in the meanwhile I would ask to you about three things :
first : had been John Wayne returned to life ?
( - I am kidding here but let me say the most movies about WWII were presenting one US soldier killing everyone while everyone was firing at will against him even from behind gullies or buildings ...a bit unrealistic..
so this time did they do a good movie ?

second : I am curious to know if they show tanks ?

third : is everything hyper brightly with magic colours ? I mean helmets cleaned over the limits ?

well , I know I am exagerating too much , just for fun ..but you please give me some hope about these new movies (how do you call in USA a movie serie like for instance Star trek ? )

Thank you for your balanced opinions
Bye!

Having HBO, I watched "Band of Brothers". Liked it very much. Am reading along from the book as the series progresses. So far, it is very true to to the book.

The program inspired me to create a scenario based upon the first episode and I plan to create one for each of following programs.

Next is Carentan!

Scenarios are for version 7. Hopefully, they will be posted for download somewhere.

For Ruxius.....yes,they show tanks...no,the guys are not "clean",in fact, get very filthy...and as for "John Wayne" being in it,well, the grandson of one of the real troops portrayed asked his grandfather if He was a hero?..The man replied,"No,but i was in a company of heroes"....i'm sure you will like it for its' historical accuracy, and for the human drama ...

Well , good new m10Bob !
and also do the Axis soldiers have a family , a voice and a life in general or they just fire , kill and die all the time ?

Anyway from all the opinions here it seems we can expect something more moderate than the old western movies against the Apaches..I begin to be hopefully I will enjoy that serial...(is this word correct to call that number of episodes ? )
Thanks !

I was impressed to see the Sherman fitted with the wading equipment; the 105's looked real (in fact all the weapons look good), the acting is not hollywood, the Brits have a British accent and the cockney is believable. The small details are the game winners, like the paratroopers having trouble climbing into the planes, I'll bet those actors weren't acting, they really were loaded down with 100lbs of gear.

My only beefs are Spielberg's seeming preoccupation with murdering POW's and the foul language; both of which are injected for effect rather for any historical value.
They struggled with a ferocity that was to be expected of brave men fighting with forlorn hope against an enemy who had the advantage of position......knowing that courage was the one thing that would save them.
