Me too...which is why I was kind of sad to see how little activity is on the forum anymore, now that I finally got internet back.
We sometimes catch a window
A glimpse of what's beyond
Was it just imagination
Stringing us along?
More things than are dreamed about
Unseen and unexplained
We suspend our disbelief
And we are entertained

See LarkinVB, now don't you want to sit down and write a sequel [;)]

I always wanted to see Matrix start hosting tournament, but I guess it is not too be.

Have you heard from Kai, Henrik? Last time I heard from him, he was refactoring WoSP, but it was some time ago. WoSP would be great, since v1.3 is on hold (hopefully not indefinitely) [:D]

Yes, me and Kai are still friends and are living in the same town.

He restarted WoSP while learning C++ (we did use C for TOS ) and progress is sloooooow due to real life affairs.
ToS was an exceptional effort and we spend more time coding than doing anything else. Guess this won't happen again so don't expect WoSP to be finished before 2007 [;)].

I had some good success with the AI mod for Dawn of War. Even the publisher showed interest and is considering to let us modders code the AI for the next patch. But I'm loosing interest (again) so I did quit modding (again).

2007 sounds like a reasonable goal [:D]
So you think you could go back to coding the next patch for ToS:WS? [8D]

What did you have in mind to be included in the next patch? Are there still outstanding issues?

Just bought this game myself, I remember playing older ToS quite a bit earlier. I read there is a "tweaked" mech-list, where could I find it. Also, anyone have comprehensive guide how to make a good rookie team, my first try was quite disastrous to say the least. [8|]

The updated databases that were available in one of the subforums are gone, in one of the periodical "cleansings". I was in the process of further refining the titan database but haven't finished it yet. I'll try to do it soon and make it available again, or I'll just post the previous one.

As for a guide to build squads, the Guide that is available in one of the sticky threads has a bunch of info in the HQ section. The latest patch also allows you to start squads in higher ranks, it's explained in the readme file IIRC.

Ok, I just posted the previous version of the updated database to the Map Room.

As for building squads, try to stick to 2 weapon skills. Close combat is quite useful early on. You'll usually want to up Reaction to as much as possible, probably 12ish. Jump if you're planning on using a titan with jump ports, otherwise Scouting will help gain MXPs. Other skills are more of a personal preference choice. Besides the "mandatory" skills for the first 3 jocks, Scanner (faster scans) or EWF (faster locks), Medical (healing) or Survival (ejects).
It will, of course, help if you already have an idea of what titan you'll buy when you develop a jock.

Thank you very much, you've been a great help. [&o][:)]

{edit] Wow, some of those new titans are really nice... made myself a green squad with four jocks and modified Hunchback a bit, AC 20 is great weapon it seems (as long as ammo lasts). Inferno light (with 4 napalm missile racks and 2 flamethrowers) for heating up opponents and couple close-combat oriented recons (can't afford more than 2 lights at this time).
