Hmmm I hope you are right I just think I tried to rush it.
 
I n eed to wait 6 weeks for my next big adventure but troops and ships are slowly assembling
 
I am supplying Marcus but none of my heavies can reach Japan yet but it is coming !!!!

Next couple of turns are quiet I am clearing his blocking forces west of Bankok and I will have a further 30,000 men to aid with the final assault.

OK what to do next in the West.
 
Assuming my additional 30,000 men allow me to take Bangkok and link up with the landing force in the South where do I go next ?
 
The base I really want is the one between Hanoi and Saigon its a big AF potentially in range of a lot of Industry.
 
Another amphib is a possibility but the fear of landing into another set of lvl 9 forts holds me back.
 
I could just link up my forces and then order a mass attack down the rail line but the battle at Bankok is weakening my forces so I am not sure what to do.

OK 10 days have passed and apart from repeated shock attacks at Bankok not much has happened PZB performed a surface raid at Marcus and ran into a small DD Sqn led by Tromp.
 
Bankok fell yesterday after a hard fought battle the Battle Honour will be added to the roll of honour of the Australian Army - But the army is wrecked my plans for SEA conquest are on hold the army needs 3 weeks to refit the armour is in good shape but the inf got chewed up in the fight for the city.
 
My Armour pursued but I have decided not chase him down.

OK some more info things have went well in the last few days I will get back to daily updates next week when things calm down at work.
 
Western Theatre
 
The Australian Army resting from its victory in the Battle of Bangkok has not pursued the Japanese North insead I recalled the armour as it was in reasonable shape compared to my gutted Inf Divs.
 
I ordered most of the Armour and all Arty and AA to move South to join the force besieging Sieman after two days the bridghead was linked with 1st Aus Army with the armoured spearhead from 1st Army the US Corps broke through at Sieman in a single day !!!!
 
Armour let lose in open country for the first time pursued with a vengeance  500 Tanks bouced the japanese out of Kratie and then out of Pnom Penh
 
Follow up forces of 1st US Cavalry Div crossed the river securing a foothold threatening Bien Po.
 
All th etime the Aussies are resting in Bangkok and reorganising a fresh Aus Div (3rd) was brought up to Bangkok to spearhead the next attack.
 
The plan is as follows
 
4 Aus Light Armoured Regts in Stuarts are driving on Ubon supported by 2 Seabee Bns a base force and 3rd Aus Div.
 
2 Parachute Bdes are prepped for Ubon and ready to drop in if required.
 
After Ubon is secured it is my Intention to mount a seaborne invasion of either northern French Indo China around Hanoi, or around Hue or on the Island of Hainan
 
Hanoi is risky as its close to training areas so my B29's have been resting as they will be required for AF suppression if I go that route.
 
If this works I will pincer the Japanese forces in French Indo China and can eliminate them at my leisure.
 
The success or failure of this operation is secondary I Just want PZB to draw troops out of China or HI to stop me as I will conduct flanking Amphib assaults when required to cut off and wipe out his troops.
 
I have 1st USMC Div/ 3rd USMC Div and 24th US Div ready for this operation.
 
After the conquest of French Indo China is complete the two USMC Divs will rest ready for my HI Adventure.
 
 
Eastern Theatre
 
Forces are congregating at Pearl thousands of ships are in the harbour, hundreds of thousands of men get ready.
 
My carriers are knocking off sys damage and need another 3 - 4 weeks to be ready but then it will be time to pull the trigger
 
I am going to sent about 15 Divs I hope against HI or Sakkalin or Korea
 
A further 5 Divs will join them from the West (incl 2 USMC Divs) the next attack will NOT fail !!!!

Ofcourse you now have a buttload of landing crafts anyway.

I'd say no. Even with the landingcrafts and all the AP's he'd need about 500 atleast imho.

I remember someone saying, and maybe it was Andy Mac in this thread, that if a Japanese player really wants to hurt Allied logistics the thing to do it to go after AKs, more than APs or even TKs. Looks like that may be true.

while it´s surely true that AKs are a limiter for the Allied later on I just wonder how a Japanese player can concentrate on sinking AKs early on... [:D] Most times it´s just pure luck if you stumble with KB over a 100 ship AK TF that brings something to Australia. Other times you hit a three ship TF of your opponent warning him KB is around and the following TF with 75 ships escapes untouched...[8|]

Ah sorry to be unclear thats just the AK's at Pearl or en route I have several hundrend more on auto convoy duty or at Singapore
 
About 30 of the AP's are 2k ones and the LST's alone can assault lift 6 Divs so carrying capacity is not a problem

Andy did mention a long (so it seems) time ago that he feels he never has enough AKs.
I took this statement to heart and reserve the small AKs specially for amphibious use. In my recently started first PBEM I saved as many as possible from DEI and transferred them and the Brit ones over to the Pacific. They will be kept safe until the time to strike back comes - although this does place a strain on the early '42 buildup - but i'm looking longer term.

I have used 500,000 tonnes of supply in Malaya in a month between air groups and the Battle of Bangkok.
 
AK's are vital.
 
I took the strategic decision to operate out of Pearl with the consequential reduction in carrying capacity.
 
By shortening my LOC I have freed up 2m tonnes of AK capacity for the next attack but make no mistake I am struggling if I was trying to operate SWPAC now I would struggle.

When I took over there was about 2,000,000 total supply not on the West Coast. I think I got about 3,000,000 shipped when you took over. I also think our predessers lost a number of AKs. Good luck.

Yes, the debacle at Java (which I advocated for [:(] ) really took a bite out of allied shipping, both navy and merchant. Additionally i think most of the british AK's (which there are a lot of) were also lost.
