Joe, a quality product a bit late is much better than a bug ridden one produced quickly.
Re: Making the last Beta Official
This last improvement of the game is an gift. I can wait!
Re: Making the last Beta Official
I concur Nomad. It has been a lot of years since the last patch, so everyone has to get back up to speed on the game engine, etc.
So it is no big deal Joe that things are taking a few months longer. Considering I never expected for this to happen, I'd say it's coming along just fine!
We will be here when the Beta is ready.

A WitpAE Patch is never late. Nor is early. It arrives precisely when it means to!

Thanks for the update and the hard work, Joe!jwilkerson wrote: Tue Aug 30, 2022 5:29 pmjwilkerson wrote: Thu Dec 09, 2021 12:18 pm The three high level phases of getting this done
1 - Produce initial public beta - this would include everything that would be in the final release
(( we would expect to iterate on public beta releases for a while, to fix issues found during the beta period ))
2 - Go GOLD
(( once we think we are stable, we'll work with Matrix to prepare the final version for release ))
3 - Public Release
(( Once the final version is ready - Matrix will release to the pubic ))
So right now, we're working on step 1. Once you see that available, you'll know we're in the beta period for this release !!
We're still working on step 1, but we can see the finish line for step 1 now and you guys will see it once the public beta is released - shortly. And yes, it took about six months longer than I expected. Hopefully it will go faster in the future.

Re: Making the last Beta Official
I think that this one is more of a database error that a person could change in the editor. I think is an error is that the RAF sections turn into Indian squads when I think that they really should turn into British squads.
Also, when using the editor to flip the switch to have the US Navy replace sunk Aircraft Carriers and Cruisers until the start of 1944, those replacements return as the same class as the original sunken vessel. They do not return as the Essex (either short or long form, depending upon the date), nor the Baltimore or Cleveland class cruisers. I am not referring to the ones that were replaced during the actual war, just when using the switch in the editor. That would give the Japanese a surprise after wiping out US ships early and then facing a horde of even better ships later on.

Play the Coral sea senario. Then get into a campaign game. Your learning curve will go up very fast.LodoloLuca wrote: Sun Sep 25, 2022 8:06 pm Hello everybody. Can we know if a tutorial scenario has been provided?
Re: Making the last Beta Official
Somewhere in the posts in this thread the Matrix staff stated exactly what fixes they were working on - a tutorial was not one of them. But if you like video tutorials look for them in the WITP-AE main forum https://www.matrixgames.com/forums/view ... 3&t=385422LodoloLuca wrote: Sun Sep 25, 2022 8:06 pm Hello everybody. Before playing any campaign game, I suggest playing the Guadalcanal scenario after playing the Coral Sea scenario.bigred wrote: Sun Sep 25, 2022 9:20 pmPlay the Coral sea senario. RJ, I don't think they mean duct tape when they are talking about a new patch ...
