Unlucky on find the enterprise ..
BTW i think you'll find that the enemy are in thailand rather than burma , agreed though the place names are unpronounceable [;)]
intel saying 20,000 men based at khon-pong-yu-gui is no help whatsoever [:D]
and as ever good luck

Bugger, entire session died and I got logged out when posting. Good thing I copied the txt out.
Anyone know why we get logged out at times?

Not a bad turn, the situation is fairly well under control. 50 enemy ac destroyed and the
Taiho returns to the Home Islands.
Turns a bit slow, too tired to spend 2 hours in front of the puter moving air units after a
busy day. Will take some time to finish this war, each turn takes requires a lot of attention
and the days are't much different anymore. Our goal is to rebuild the Fleet and protect the Home
Islands until our new Interceptors are ready. If we can do this Andy will find it very difficult
to get anywhere. We're both at 80k points now.

RE: Cunning Plans are here again!
The war for supplies is a quiet one, but it has been raging for many years.
Convoys like this is still getting through from the DEI and India with their valuable cargo
of supplies, raw materials and crude oil!
The supplies are mainly routed into the PI, Palaus and Marianas, taking the strain of the Home Islands
which in turn is supplied from China.
I'm slowly abandoning all areas south of Borneo and Davao. This is essential in order to keep our main defense
line strong. In Manila there is some 1000 aviation support, regaining morale and strength. They will be sent were
needed when the time comes.
Watched Letters from Iwo Jima today. Plenty of room for more troops than were used in real life [;)]

Pinky: Hey Brain what are we goeing to do this evening?
Brain: The Usual Pinky we will try to take over the World;)
RE: Cunning Plans are here again!
perhaps i'm allowed to jump in?[:)]
Can you count on all of your (2850) oil ? Can you transfer it to HI? If the answer is yes, then expand your HI in the place where you are sure that HI won't be attacked in few months (are there such places in late 1944?)
You have enormous stockpiles of supply, so you can allow to expand HI further....
As for your original question, don't switch off armament industry (you are going to recive more reinforcements and it would be nice to have reserves, IMHO)... i think that you can turn off vechiles production - 33K should be more than enough even if you didn't recive your last armoured division (2nd or 3rd, i do not recall)...
With turned off your shipyards you should have surpluses of HI even now...is that a case?
And where is PzB?!

One large undamaged cargo ship returned alive to Mindanao to unload core elements of

it has more fragments and I estimate 2 months before it's combat ready. The 3rd will need 4-5 months.

RE: Cunning Plans are here again!
Ship the 91st and 3rd Armoured to Home Islands. They will rebuild there at least twice as fast. The more big cities are around the unit the more chances it has to receive multiple replacements per turn.
I usually build up my troops to full TOE near Osaka.

RE: Cunning Plans are here again!
Good advice Timon!
In the Home Islands I now have dozens of militia Division forming.
Not sure it will be much use to add an entire Armored Div to that group.
The 91st is needed in Indo China. Will use it as garrison and free up a Burma Area Army
unit. The enemy outnumbers us and have complete air superiority.
To be realistic it's only a matter of time until it will advance into Indo China - and eventually
be met by the Chinese Area Army. I wish to wear down the enemy troops and retain a strong Burma Area
Army if possible and retreat it into the interior to prevent the enemy from overrunnning us and head into India.
Looks like we can celebrate 200k hits this weekend [:)]

RE: Cunning Plans are here again!
ORIGINAL: pauk
perhaps i'm allowed to jump in?[:)]
Boy, I remember Mogami, Frag and the rest of the hard core types saying how impossible it was that supply in general was too plentiful and that the economy was too supply hog like to posibly stockpile excess supply. Chalk up yet another one for old Ronny boy, eh?[8D] Still batting 1000 over here in the cheap seats.[:D]

RE: Cunning Plans are here again!
Well isnt it possible that hes an exceptional case? Admittedly im a
rubbish Jap player, but i definately dont have stockpiles of supplies and fuel like that and im sure plenty of others dont.
Have they always ****'d swear words?

Think I have been careful with expanding factories and facilities in this game. Andy was dissappointed when he captured
Singapore cause the ship repair yards there hadn't been expanded at all....

Counter-attacking is vital to force the enemy onto the defensive.
I've found that it's a good idea to distribute trained air replacements to kami units.
Having just a single high exp pilot increases the chance to get a damaging hit many times.

Kamikaze!

Counter-attacking is vital to force the enemy onto the defensive.
I've found that it's a good idea to distribute trained air replacements to kami units.
Having just a single high exp pilot increases the chance to get a damaging hit many times.

RE: Celebrating 200k hits
Well i must tell you that something is wrong with this game in my game ageainst Zeta we moved into 10/44 he just liberated entire Burma[:(] but when he Landed at Ulithi a Firce battle started raging for like a week or something i lost CA , CL and some DD's + Planes sinking Saratoga (Essex) , 13 CVE's , 3 BB's few CA's , CL's and DD's and i just went in for another Round[:D] This game gives Japas an Advantage All the Way...

Pinky: Hey Brain what are we goeing to do this evening?
Brain: The Usual Pinky we will try to take over the World;)
RE: Celebrating 200k hits
Sounds like Zeta shouldn't have invaded Ulithi if you ask me [:D]
Throwing in the kitchen sink to suppress a chain of well fortified islands isn't recommended unless certain key pre-requisites can be met first.
Andy aborted just such an attempted landing against the Marianas and has been slugging it against isolated islands ever since.
Even an attempt at a small island chain (Bonins) stalled Andy - mostly because he didn't use LBA from Wake
and Marcus to suppress Bonin and Iwo Jima first.
To successfully occupy the Palaus in WitP you have to:
1. Occupy Truk and Central/Northern New Guinea and establish bases for your LBA.
2. Pound the Palaus into rubble.
3. Land heavy contingents of LCUs covered by a US Super Carrier Navy with Hellcats and Corsairs supported by
heavy surface combat groups.
Even 10/44 may be too early if you haven't fulfilled the pre-requisites.
It's much like a receipt for making a cake, you have to know how to do it to succeed [;)]
Still haven't heard about anyone invading the Home Islands in a pbem game, so I'm not sure whether this is possible or not.
As this wasn't attempted in RL it's impossible to get many pointers, but it would have been bloody.
The US estimated 1 million casualties.
