RE: Association Parameter Results
Hey Frozen,
Will we be able to send you a draft profile before you do the draft?
I know getting everyone together for player by player picks wouldnt work.
Something like:
Pick 1 - best overall starting pitcher
Pick 2 - best overall hitter
pick 3 thru 4 - best hitter focus on speed and defence
and so on.
thanks,
Chris

Yes-- there will be an initial draft based on draft profiles uploaded by each GM. Once I have uploaded the initial association (pre-draft), each GM downloads it, creates their draft profile and then uploads that. When I have everyone's profile (or at a set deadline date) I will run the draft, then Spring Training.
At this point, I will allow some time for GMs to shuffle and organize their rosters. Then, we begin simming. In fact, that's topic 5...

Topic 5: Sim Session Length & Frequency
Topic 5: Sim Session Length & Frequency
I believe a sim session should cover Sunday-to-Saturday and that these should be simmed either 2 or 3 times/week:
Sim Length - Option 1: Sunday-to-Saturday
Sim Length - Option 2: Seven calendar days.
Sim Frequency - Option 1: Mondays and Thursdays
Sim Frequency - Option 2: Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
Your thoughts...?

Either sim length look good to me. I'd go for Option 2 though on 3 times a week.

artistic...
We have room. Currently there are 6 human-controlled teams in a league that will consist of 10 teams; 2x 5-team divisions. That leaves four slots open and now your Dallas Stars have filled one of those slots.
Kindly go over past posts and submit your answers for the five Topics. Thanks and welcome in!

RE: Potential New Association Starting - Interested?
Hi chaps, I would be very interested in joining this. I have no previous online experience of this game, as I am new to it, but I was previously a member of an online football management game for three years until it disbanded.
I'd have to state up front that while I have followed baseball for about five years and understand the rules of the game, I may well miss things when it comes to the nuances.
Being in the UK, baseball is shown here twice a week, at 1am, and I've had to pick the rest up from reading articles on mlb.com. I believe the best way to learn, for myself, would be to play in a league (especially a fictional one where in-depth knowledge of existing players is not needed) where I could benefit from others' knowledge, rather than playing solo games where I may miss out on a lot of the subtleties.
However, if you feel I am too inexperienced for the league, I would understand.

Sorry to be blind, but I cannot find where on the website to download the upgrade to CE4. Could anyone help guide the way?

RE: Association Parameter Results
Can I ask for a postponing of this league? I have run into some serious computer issues, which may result in having to reformatting my hard drive. I hoping to avoid this, but I may not have a say in the matter.

Consider yourself in. You'll never gain any experience if you're never given a chance to learn and play. You may have to deal with more obstacles that other, experienced GMs, but if you're willing to work around this-- so am I.
Register and jump onto the message board and we'll talk more there.

Thanks, have joined that board although there are no threads yet.
I've also just noticed that CE5 has now been released.

I'm still waiting for a response from darkchu on my request for admin rights on the board. Darkchu has done us the favor of setting up the board and I simply need access to work the threads into topics that we will use.
As far as CE 5 is concerned, I'm running PureSim on 2 PCs; 1 at work, 1 at home. The home PC has v1.51 while the work PC has CE 5. The only real topic that we're unclear on is the game version to run. I really want CE 5, but we're still on the fence with this.
Also, we have 3 of our potential GMs signed up... it would be great (but not required) to have everyone signed up.
