Thoughts on expansions...

The highly anticipated second release in the Panzer Command series, featuring an updated engine and many major feature improvements. 3D Tactical turn-based WWII combat on the Eastern Front, with historical scenarios and campaigns as well as support for random generated battles and campaigns from 1941-1944.

Il pay for any new scenario/campaign/material on the eastern front.
Destructable buildings, more maps for generating your own scenarios/campaigns,extra units.
I would be very happy with some smaller content in between expansions.

Very interesting suggestions. Let me just add one note - when we go to larger maps in the future, it doesn't mean smaller maps will become unavailable. We'll be expanding the possible map sizes not limiting you to a new larger size only. I think that continuing to improve the infantry side of the game is definitely possible while also making it an even better armor game as well.

That is good to hear. From a random campaign perspective, a variety of map sizes will provide different challenges for each differing force. I'd also echo other posters that 'mini-expansions' should only be content (unless including 'bundled' bug fixes that are available to download freely) so that the engine is kept consistent between major releases.

Having read the many ideas here, I would re-iterate my interest in the minor nations plus more maps, units and campaigns. I think that the 'Mega-Campaign' concept used for SPWaW would work really well with this engine.

Excellent.

I am one of those who prefer to play the Soviet side and I like infantry fights as well. So improvements along these lines will keep my attention for a long time to come.

Save new theaters for major releases. The x-paks should stay in the area of the parent title, if only because the additional content can be combined easily with the existing ones and provide greater diversity within that theater. I prefer an in-depth treatment of one subject rather than a shallow treatment of several.

Try to resist the pie-in-the-sky wish lists for an x-pak. The idea should be to keep a price around $19.99 or $24.99, and adding in too much will necessitate work that would increase the price, making it more than a mere expansion. I'm not inclined to pay a heftier price without engine upgrades. Add more to the Eastern Front, since the next major release won't be there anyway -- i.e. we need the additional Eastern content now b/c it won't be added otherwise.

I'm really not sure I'll shelve up to 25$ for just new scenarios !!
That's the problem : scenarios add-ons are perceived as less worth their price than expansions, themselves less worthy than brand new games. Usually it's rather true...
So either propose "just" new scens/campaigns but the price tag should be <= 15$, or expansions (with some real new features) at 25-30$.

I consider "new content" more than just "scenarios". I take it as a new campaign setting with new German and Russian campaigns, new units (plus their art) and new historical maps with new art. That, to me, is worth paying what I said above. Just new scenarios wouldn't be worth as much (no new unit or map art).

Also, I'm sure any engine additions via patch to the date of the expansion would be included in the package. But remember that Erik specifically asked about expansions to Kharkov; not the next major release in the series.
