I don't think they will be happy that Fuchida forgot to bring torps at Pearl.

The surface ships at Manila will be slaughtered. Best, I think, is to try the Murmansk Convoy thing and send the seaworthy non-combatants as singlets..some throught the China Sea, some past Borneo, some East of Sulawese and even some due east toward Midway. They can't kill them all. [:)]

You can form TF's with the cripples and dock them at Manila to absorb some of the anti-shipping attacks. The AI will preferentially attack bigger TF's. At least there, the shore based AAA will do some damage.

Have fun.

Turn sent to John and QBall. The austrailian APs are on the way to Brisbane and are yours to send to the USA.

AD Black Hawk is on its way to Perth.
I have a few dutch subs that start damaged moving to Melbourne for repair. Most other ships are headed towards India except for a few APs that will be used to move some troops around once you release some PPs my way. The Dutch AS will go to Perth as well.

Quiet on my front so far. :) To my inexperienced eye(with this Mod) it appears that China and Burma will go slower than stock.

What did you mean by "I usually send the extra Dutch repair ships to Australia. " Which ships are you referring to?

It will be interesting to see over the next few turns if we can discern who is running what on the Japanese side. QBall is an unknown to me.

I just checked what is available at start and then along the reinforcement track. Oops!! I have played multiple PBEMs (most less than 6 months and only one got to 43). The last few have been Empires Ablaze, RHS 7, Big B's, CHS, and Iron Storm going from current to my first one. Thus, get confused on what available from one to the others at times.

I have 4 AKs from the Luchenbach line already being converted to ARs and will slowly place more in the pipeline.

When I helped John install Tracker, he mentioned that he was over eastern Pacific, Malaya, and Burma/India. With the way the carriers were divided up, this makes some sense.

I did not form up any TF from the transports stationed throughout the island bases in the Philippines. As his carriers move south to chase after the "thundering herd," I will send some due east at full speed. I did it in one of my short lived PBEMs and they got through almost entirely intact.

For the first month I tend to form a lot of single TF as its survival of the fittest.

Paul,

A suggestion and a warning as the first month goes forth.

WARNING!!  I have used too many Hurricanes to upgrade my Australian Buffalo squadrons (cannot do the British until 5/42) and left the number in the pool below 16 when reinforcements show up. What happens is the Hurricanes come in as Buffalos vs Hurricanes. You get 5 squadrons of Hurricanes (16 planes each) in 36 days. You get 32 Hurricane IIb per month replacements. Don't let your Hurricane pool drop below 16 planes or you will swear up a blue streak like I did in a recent game.

Suggestion: I am a big fan boy of the Beaufort V-IX. [&o][&o] In this mod we get a significant replacement and reinforcement rate (10 & 45 per month). I would think about upgrading the 8 plane squadron of Hudsons (there are 6) to Beauforts first and then continue to fill out the 16 planes Hudson squadrons.

Michael,

Thanks for the heads up. I will make sure to keep an eye on the plane reinforcements and not drop the pool below the needed amount. I also agree with your thoughts on the Beauforts. I like to get rid of the Hudsons as fast as I can.

Just for clarity, in Big B you will have to take them to Beufort I's first then V. Still you get oodles of these airframes. They all upgrade to Beaufighters later but I turn off that upgrade. I like the torps better. Also check all you RAF units carefully in India. Several of the Bomber squadrons upgrade to Hurricanes which is nice to augment your fighter forces

Comments: Rain has surround much of the Central Pacific. It covers all of Hawaii, the Line Islands, Canton Island, and Johnson Island. My 2 CVs are going to head over to Palmrya and in the next few days probably head NE to rendezvous with Sara to form my 3 headed monster. I have made preliminary plans for where LCUs on the West Coast and Panama will be deployed (subject to change).

There has been less than normal invasions over the first two days. Why?? I think something is going to happen and warned Paul that they may try to land at Mershing and cut off retreats into Singapore. There was no invasion of Wake Island. There has been thunderstorms and overcast around parts of the SRA and this helped my "thundering herd" escaping from Manila from getting hit in both phases.

Screen Shot: The mini-KB is to the left while CV Soryu and Hiryu are to the right.

The early part of this game is making me wonder what they are up to as well. Where will they strike in Malaysia!

Also sorry about the DDs in Hong Kong. I completely overlooked that base.

PREPARE THE WOODSHED!

You could blame Churchill. It wasn't a very safe place to put them.

My OCD-ness usually gets the best of me on turn 1. [:D] That's why it takes me over 4 hours. I go through each base, decide what units of the West Coast will go where and change their prep, and usually form over 300 TF before I'm done.

We may have a problem. TF 1100 is lost in the gray are around Aden. See the screenshot. Is this fixable?

In my game with John III, his carriers posted outside the Aden Channel hit Allied ships inside the channel.  So don't assume that ships in the channel are out of range (in the event the KB shows up there or near the Canal Zone Channels later in the game).

How do we determine who it is amongst the four of us? When I have the turn all ships I assign to aden show a path through the appropriate channel. Since the Japanese do the "actual" move I suspect its one of them. Or am I wrong?

Just for the record -
I know some folks don't care for after action summaries in AAR's, but for people like me who like seeing how the combats go - I thank you.

I like to see the results of combats so I can judge what kind of results the mod produces(as seen below).
To see 38 fighters and 93 bombers mix it up, with the loss of only four fighters and a few bombers lost total tells me I'm on the right track (since the entire goal of the mod was to get results realistic).

Thanks
B

I would say John and I are not at fault as we both have played this mod before without problems. I would post in the Tech Support section.

Need new partner!!!!!

Post by Wolfpack_MatrixForum »

ny59Giants has decided to leave this game! So I need someone else to team up with me. We are restarting due to a map issue that we should be certain that is resolved in the next day or so.

Anybody interested in teaming up with me in a 2x2 game against John III and Q-Ball?

Thanks,
Wolfpack

I would say probably not. I have had an AP in the hex north of Brisbane since early 1942. I am using the same map and Big B 1.4 It won't move because it somehow seems to know it is now in an all land hex. I say that because it lacked the sense to move there in the first place but has suddenly had an "apostrophe" (re: the movie "Hook") and realizes ships can't sail on land unless they happen to be dromedary. There is an error in the pwhex file somewhere. Talk to Andrew but I think you are screwed.
