Don't count on it....

Post by TimeTanker »

Took care of another 3 or 4 tracks on this turn after losing a hellcat and a couple of m20's. The fighting will be coming to a new level of intensity here in the next couple of turns. It is going to get really messy out there at the outskirts.

Ummmm well with all of the generals' tearing up of the French Fields....maybe no one will notice.

Found one conveniently placed Recon Patrol up on a hill overlooking the action. Made Them get down off of that unsafe hill. Told them to report to their mommies.....

Ok, got a recon unit, jeep, bazooka team, inducing havoc amoung your ranks. Do you here that, .......................that sound on the outskirts is what will lead me to victory. Roads are drying up, it's beginning to look like the Boston Marathon in some places.

Can't hear anything over the sound of my teeth chattering.

But, if you are out there if you hurry you might make it in time for the USO Show. They are flying in Bob Hope and a bunch of high kickin floozies.....YeeHaw!!

But, Yah gotta leave the peashooters out there in the snow...pardner.

Will get to it when I get home in about an hour.

I feel a small uneasiness in you tone. Time to revert back to sneeking. I will leave all my peashooters outside if you promise all the ale my men can drink (the good German brew) and a designated driver for those who need it. Where do I buy my tickets to the show?;)

Having fun playing delay the Germanic Tribesmen as long as possible. My lone rifle nest made a platoon and a HMG dismount. I think that would be all I could expect of those guys. They did say something about holding their beer bottles up to the rifle slot and getting the tops of the hard to open ones opened by the rifle squad.

Still playing cat and mouse in the North and destroyed another PZiV with a satchel charge (think it was a satchel charge)

I can see the Tribesmen coming down all available roads.

Took some pretty accurate mortar fire towards the middle so I assume there is a recon unit close by that I am missing some how.

Would have had the turn earlier but my oldest son bought me 3 frisbee golf discs and we played at the local course until almost 9:30PM.

It's easy to overlook that recon unit, they're wearing US uniforms. Money and beer are a powerful thing.

Found the party on the outskirts by they won't let me in, my invitation was for yesterday. I tried to tell them if they had reliable snow removal equipment I wouldn't have been late. Still having traffic jam problems but noticed I get some dozers in T15 to help plow the road. Got a greyhound, found some wandering rifle squads lost in the woods. Are there any good mechanics in Bastonge I'm having a tough time with breakdowns on these crappy roads. I'm writting a letter to the Mayor to see if I can get justice. Put another misplaced bunker out to pasture, they were complainingg about lack of comms, food, and overall support from their CO, man he must be a hard as s. Going to cookout, it won't be until sometime tonight before I can play another turn.

The Mayor ran off with the Generals Wife

Post by TimeTanker »

You may have a problem getting justice in Bastogne. The Mayor is gone and no one is fessing up about who's in charge.

My ISP has been down since last night and so I just got your turn. Will attempt quick turn around.

Yes I do....

Post by TimeTanker »

Well, I came to my office and copied the corrected files off and used the Sneaker Net to get them home to play. That is what I meant in the other forum about continuing the current games.

Put a couple of rounds onto a Panther G before getting (what I believe will turn out to be) my M10's Main gun shot out. And, got a somewhat asleep at the wheel WhirbelWind in the north. Where the fighting rages between your diversionary folks and my entrenched ABN Groundhogs.....:p

You commented a couple of posts ago about getting a towing service going? Unfortunately you will have to hold your impatient Deutsche Butts! My Tow Truck drivers are too busy dragging our own sorry *** Detroit Deuces out of the snow.

A little ridiculous

Post by Supervisor »

This is getting a little ridiculous, I've got more immobilzed vehicles due to breakdowns than I actually have that can be moved. Got a stranded Rifle squad in the SE, a recon unit of yours popped up and immobilzed a HT now they're on the run for their lives. Got a few more foot soldiers laying in wait. It may be turn 50 before I ever reach the city.

I do know what you mean...

Post by TimeTanker »

That is why I mentioned the fact that my tow truck drivers are all out on calls already. I too had about 30% attrition to breakdowns. It got really frustrating.

I found however that if I drove slowly (1 click at a time, and never more than 3) I had fewer breakdowns.

But, the vehicles that did breakdown most of them came back after about 5 turns as a sitting duck. So don't write them off they just need time to dig out.

Taking turn via Sneaker Net to home computer will post later today.

I hope your right, or my recon unit will show up at the city with on pistols to whip you into submission. As for slow moving your right on that(and I should know better) moving 1 hex at a time never allows the unit to reach max speed therefore fewer breakdowns. Also allows for better sneaking, are you done with the turn yet? This is always my downfall I'm very impatient which causes me to me stupid mistakes and walk into ambushes.

Sorry for the delay.....

Post by TimeTanker »

Here it is.

More hand to hand in the north. Finally kocked out that Armored Car. It took two platoons two turns to destroy that thing.

The platoon that got your Whirbelwind got caught celebrating a little too loudly out there in the snow. One of my recon units said that the whole platoon was making Snow Angels and Snow Men with Hitler Mustaches when they got ambushed by a unit of Ice Sculpture Critics. And, I guess they weren't very charitable. There are only 5 guys left in the platoon.

Any way with out further embellishment.
